2012 C & C - Fair Lakes, VA
#155
Fair Lakes, 07/22/12
It was overcast this morning, with intermittent misting rain. I got to Fair Lakes at about 7:45AM - Sam joined me with his Camaro RS about 10 minutes later. We thought no one else was going to show up, but people started arriving around 8:20AM. Despite the later start, and slow progress, we ended up with a pretty good showing.
Matt brought his Sport Elise, Bob S. had his F550, Doug had his GTO, and Chris Cowan was driving his '4-door Viper'.

Fair Lakes, 07/22/12 - Part 2
More pictures from today.
My theory is, when people can't go to a Saturday C & C because of weather, they are that much more likely to show up on Sunday, even if weather isn't optimal. We car people are an impatient bunch!

Great turn out today...lot was almost full! It is great to see everyone and to meet the newcomers. It is really cool to see this meet growing every weekend.
However, it is also getting a bit out of hand when folks are leaving. We are at this lot only as long as the merchants allow us. It was really disturbing to see so much lack of respect for the people living in the condos and the lack of thought about what could happen if we loose this lot. Many people left the lot today chirping tires, speeding revving engines repeatedly, nailing the blow off valves, and just being inconsiderate to those who are not car people and who do not see that as cool.
Last weekend we got a visit from the Fairfax County Officer who chased after someone leaving the event who treated Fair Lakes Circle as the 1/4 mile strip. He was cool and left us alone but it was clear that he had come by to let us know they are now watching.
Please spread the word and show respect and be courteous to the non-car folks when arriving and leaving. Thanks!!!

Good weather, good turnout. Plenty of new folks showed up; great variety!
For instance, new attendees Amanda and her father Bob showed up in her Z28.
Former Elise owner Jay is now an Elise owner again - brought his black Elise Supercharged. We had a Rossion I had not seen before, a dark blue GTR I hadn't seen, as well as a Jag XKR I had only seen once before.
