My intention is not to close this thread. I will if I have to but I do not want to if that can be be avoided. I'm not going to ban anyone, I don't think any of the contents on these posts are serious enough for banning.

It's really simple guys, post with respect for others, cut the bs, and keep it civilized...and we'll be fine. I'll do whatever I see fit to ensure that happens. plain and simple.

80-100 cars? Wow. That's impressive. Almost bordering on unmanagable!

I've been on a couple of big gatherings like this. While fun, it seems that they are as much a show for others to witness as a day of exciting driving for the owners/drivers. I seem to recall periodic bursts of moderate speed driving interrupted by lots of slowing down for the line of cars in front of you -- the line of cars acting sort of like a spring compressing and expanding down the road. And if there is the requisite group photo shoot, a lot of time is spent lining up all the cars.

But quite a show it is.

Here is a video that shows a lot of the arrivals of cars at last years event... it is quite a nice mix (not to stir up any trouble):

And another one with departure and a ride along:

We found last year that during some of the early sections of the route where there are traffic lights the cars tended bunched up. So, we have timed the "bunch up" periods and are staggering car launch times into groups to adjust. As a result, we feel the early section of the route will be more open and it should greatly improve the flow.

I drove the route again today and its really quite breathtaking. The scenery is wonderful and the roads exciting.

See ya' there...

Something about those pics looks very famililar. Did one of these start at Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg? I went on one group drive that started there that looks like we stopped at both of those places in the pics.

A1,

Yes! When Criswells in Gaithersburg, MD was the Lotus and Lamborghini dealer we did events with them. They are now strictly a Chevy dealer at that location. Just to let you know, Criswells has just added Maserati to thier Germantown lineup.

Yup....TCP. The police escort thought the lambos and Ferraris would take too long to get out of the parking lot so they stopped traffic and the porsches screamed out of Howard County!!!!!!! What a beautiful sound we made! Can't wait for June 10th
