I was rolling at a decent pace until about mile 8 when my calves started to lock-up badly in the middle of a mud pit. That in addition to swallowing a load of muddy water from the 15ft dive really slowed me down (i cant swim). I'm confident i could shave off another 20-30mins if i had the opportunity to run the course again..although im not sure i could touch your group's time of 1:50, thats just insane!

If theres anything id do differently it would be to train more on the running part and not eat any fruit snacks or bananas at the water stations. Im really lookin forward to the next event..
Oh that's awesome. You got to run the course before everyone else tore it up I wish we signed up for the 8 am run too. We were sitting at some obstacles waiting for people to finish. That's an awesome time for your first run. Congrats on finishing strong. I bet you're addicted now. It just takes one event to get you hooked.

As petty as it sounds, I really wanted to finish and get my toughmudder shirt and headband. HAHAHA Maybe I'll get it at the next one.

BTW for sh*ts and giggles, here's my xray

Im definitely hooked..there's some event going on @ the Seven Spring ski resort in a month or two. 7 miles up and down the mountain. Dont really have the full details yet but anything involving mountains should be fun.

Chipster is infamous around these parts
Tough Mudder really dropped the ball this year with poor planning. I was supposed to be in the 120 heat and left Fredericksburg for the 99 mile drive at 930. By 330, we were within half a mile of the course but still not there and they had closed the course by then. Would have been my 3rd 15km (ish) mud run and i've done a few of the 5km ones as well. I'm using the voucher they offered towards VA Beach next year. That's crazy about the shoulder injury. I did last year's event and hit 3 of the power lines, definitely zaps you but I didn't think it was that bad.
