Event suggestion thread!??!
Guys, I think we need an event suggestion thread... We all know about the more regular events that go on every week, and the larger charity shows/meets... but I think that some of the smaller ideas slip through the cracks around here!!!
We had discussed grabbing a bushel or two of crabs in the past, I think that's a good one to start with! In addition, cooler weather is creeping our way, and I believe that a ski trip or fall camping trip might be in the cards for a smaller group of us...
Perhaps we can throw ideas out there in a thread like this, and if there's enough interest in a particular event, we can move on to a seperate discussion and post a link to that thread in this one.

Crabfeast!!!!!!! Mike brown and I thoroughly enjoyed our PCA Chesapeake regional annual crabfeast today! It was epic! We were the last 2 men standing today... It was a proud moment!!! I think crabs plus maybe a car show would be a great event!

The quality of crabs are great, big heavy crabs... Plus they have jumbo shrimp and all kinds of deserts, beer, side dishes, etc... I dunno how they do it but the quality of crabs are among the best I've had... Year after year. And they always have extra lol... Mike brown took home a couple dozen!
It's an amazing event, I go every year... This year Porsche of silver spring brought out a few cars and raffle prizes etc. Definately a must do on my car events calendar !!!

Harris crab house on Kent Island is a great place, but often crowded. Perhaps crabs at someones house or park. We got a great bushel of crabs from Crossroads Pub in Dayton a month or so back.

Would love to know where PCA got their crabs It would be cool to find a park by the water we could use for an event like this!
I'd volunteer my home, but the parking and road quality situation is a bit dicey considering we have a church next door that uses all available parking on weekends, and that I live in baltimore city

^^^ Kenny I dunno where PCA gets their crabs, Mike Brown or his wife might know...wherever it is, it's an AWESOME place as they never fail to provide the best crabs and steamed jumbo shrimp!
I would suggest calling Canton Dockside, they have good crabs also and they have a lot that's big enugh for a car show or meet....they have outdoor tables also for a good ole fashion ballmer car & crabfeast!

Sunir, you're in the area of canton dockside... perhaps you could drop by next time you're out and about down that way, a personal visit may be our best bet as opposed to cold calling.
OR, we could always run there for lunch as a group after maple lawn this week to check it out

Kenny lets go there as a grup, if we do decide to use Dockside I'd like more people to take a look and give their thoughts. I already like it but I'm just one person...
Adam...I've thought about that, but it's a lot more planning, and money than most people may be willing to spend.. also there are different skill levels, need to find instructors, hire corner workers, get safety crew....and so forth. Let's face it the majority of people would rather participate in a car show, a public roads cruise/drive, or a car social event then a track day. It saddens me to think this, but it seems true

I agree, I've heard that its like 3k for a weekday and 5k for a weekend, that includes everything that would be at a FATT. I think some more would be more inclined to go if it were a large group of friends rather then a random organization.
