Mid-life Crisis Mustang Man!

I don't think ANYONE can dispute the level of car the Mustang has become. In Shelby GT500 trim, it has become on of the fastest street cars available, and now with better tires, it can run those low 11's around in the 1/4, handle well around some corners, while maintaining civility with daily creature comforts.

You should go for a run with me and Scott some day.

So the other day in Reston I was in the 355. I saw a rustang being driven aggressively merging in front of me, must have been a a new shelby or something because his license plate said "Snaked".
We were lined up at the red light and I gave him a few revs. He revved back and the light went green. His car sounded pretty good. So I speed up to give him a thumbs up but he was just looking dead straight forward with a mean look on his face, he was in his 60s or something.
I guess he though I was being serious when I revved at him? Haha. He was driving like a jackass afterwards, speeding up and slowing down. Luckily my left turn came up so I escaped.
I also got the "daddys car" comment by another older gentlemen as I walked into the Best Buy there.

It could be a matter of interpretation/opinion as to who was sillier:
1) The guy who uses the term "rustang" instead of "Mustang," makes a point to mention that the other guy was in his 60s (and in a mid-life crisis), and gave him a few revs as if to taunt/tease/challenge him at a red light, or.....
2) The other guy who was said to be driving "aggressively," who was "speeding up and slowing down," and for which the Ferrari driver felt lucky to have "escaped" (from what, I don't know).
Would any of us want to be either of these guys?

I will always have a soft spot for 'stangs...I like the Shelby's of various vintage and late model, as well as Roush, Mach 1, the Boss 302, and the Boss 427, and the track GT350/500 cars.

I have been a mustang hater for a long time.... But after spending some time with the gt500, a few 03-04 cobras, and the newest generation 5.0 and boss cars... My mind is changing pretty quickly! In the past, the majority of mustangs around made a whole lot of (admittedly wonderful) noise, but didn't have the power to back it up... That is not the case anymore, even the 6cyl cars are no joke by most people's standards these days!

i don't see any haters here. Only those who think it is the greatest, fastest, bestest car ever (which is only the person described by the op, whom we have never met).
i don't think anyone can dispute the level of car the mustang has become. In shelby gt500 trim, it has become on of the fastest street cars available, and now with better tires, it can run those low 11's around in the 1/4, handle well around some corners, while maintaining civility with daily creature comforts.
