Machine Shops?

Does anyone know of a good, reputable machine shop with experience on high-end cars and their engines? I'm thinking about getting the crank pulley in my V8 Vantage lightened (it's, um, huge and heavy).

There is one in fairfax called kinsen or something like that. Used them years ago on a AMX mustang build on my first race car, the engine was made for a racing series called American Iron Series run by NASA around that time. They worked on several of the race car engines in that series.

Sunir - is that response supposed to be more about you or an answer to the question? BTW have you ever been an instructor at a driving event? LOL JK

Also - forgot to mention Charlie at Intersport in Tysons would be fully capable.

And thinking on it might be too sm. a job for Mike @ Burtonsville Perf. Machine, his forte is building Cup car engines and engines for vintage Trans Am cars, etc. and he is less like the type of person to lift car and take pulley off and do the whole deal soup to nuts, more just a true engine-builder machinist, but still prob. worth a call if he is close to you or smthg.

.
I was using a ref to a series as a background to recommend a vendor. How is this about me at all...or instructing...or a driving event.

I don't know a lot about Aston Martins but if lightening the pulley is something that would be helpful / a desired modification might a co. like Prodrive make one?

.... or Kevin Buckler / The Racer's Group = TRG in CA? They are factory backed racing Asrton Martins now.

I think a lot of times the grade of metal whether a casting, billet milled or forged etc. on say a OEM crank pulley even on high-end car might not be the highest quaility / most sutiable for custom machining. If you could find one already made specifically for that application or made with custom machining in mind from the get-go prob. a better solution.
