Some HP Mods to my ZL1
Jeremy Formato came up from Tampa this week to Gettysburg, PA (2hr drive for me), so I decided to get my first round of mods done and have him tune the car. Like w2wss and CT Morgan, I did a 2.4 upper pulley, ported blower snout and throttle body, injectors, 160 stat, plugs and CAI. I also installed a LS9 cam to pick up a little power yet still have completely stock driveability. My 2500 mile stock intercooler pump also took a **** on the dyno, so I had to bring the car home and install an aftermarket pump and new intercooler tank to get a little extra fluid capacity. Once back on the dyno a few days later, the car made 591rwhp and 596tq. I am still trying to decide what to do exhaust-wise, so I left quite a bit of power on the table by leaving the stock cats in place. That'll be the first thing I do when he returns to tune in early spring.
Decided to throw the black wheels back on for some pics - I lowered the car last month with Hotchkis springs too. They only brought the front down 1/2", and the rear a 1/4", but it's a nice subtle change. They literally ride identical to stock, so I'm happy with that. I also Plastidipped the rear trunk panel and chrome tail light bezels. I'm trying to figure out what look I'm going to settle on back there.
