Tire shops in MPLS/St. Paul (MN) area

Hi all. I posed the same question in the 996 forum, but, since I do not live in California, not all the responses were exactly helpful.

Given the price of these nice aftermarket wheels you are talking me into, who do you use to change tires around here. I have had several rims scratched up in the past, but never really cared about it before now. Would like to have a few recommenations handy when the time comes that I need to have new tires mounted.

Thanks!

Hopkins Firestone does alot of high end wheels,
Also for mounting a balancing of tires the guys at Carousel Automobiles do
a great job on Porsches since that is all they do.

I second Hopkins Firestone. Any time I get a set of high dollar wheels for customers, I have Hopkins Firestone do the install and balance. I usually work with Mike, he is a good guy.

Tire shop in Mpls

The Tires Plus store accross from Ridgedale have the right equipment and usually mount the tires from the rear of the rim preventing scratches on the face. They have and use a Road Force tire balancing system that brings the tire/rim set into balance at speed. They also have the specialized equipment to do alignments for Porsche's, BMW's and MB's, and do some of the work for the local car dealers. In fact (if asked) they will dial in a custom wheel alignment like negative camber.

Talk to Jamie who is the store Manager. And lastly, let them know you are associated with the Auto MotorPlex Minneapolis in Chanhassen for a discount on purchase and service.
