so my family and i were driving on 880 south in oakland, ca sunday morning early (about 730am) and saw a car on fire on the right shoulder. as we passed i saw in shock that it was a mini cooper, i think an s. the car was totally engulfed in flames that were shooting up at least 20 feet in the air. i've seen other cars on fire, but nothing this dramatic before, and never a newer car such as this. i don't think anyone was hurt as the police and spectators were standing around not looking overly concerned, just waiting for the fire truck to come. i had my camera in the trunk so don't have any pictures but hope everyone is ok. i hadn't heard anything about coopers and electrical problems and assume this was a very rare problem...but it was dramatic to see.
