In regards to using Randy Webb, I would *never* recommend him to work on a Mini based on my personal experience. If you do, Caveat Emptor.

there are all these bigger companies like dinan that charge way too much and dont pull too much out. And there are a TON of smaller companies that make awesome product that actually turn the mini into a super monster. I would get GIAC flash to start then hit up alta performance, or fireball mini, or MINI MADNESS, out motoring, m7 are all really great ones
How much HP can you push out of a Mini Cooper S for example?

Any good/respected Mini tuners in/near St. Louis? I have a 06 Mini cooper S GP.
The car is great, but I'd love some more hp. The stock engine has 216 hp.

Thanks

Jimp-- I don't think you're going to get any easy/inexpensive HP gains. You already have the most upgraded model- head, exhaust, supercharger, pulley, etc. It is also the lightest MINI. To go further would require more radical tuning which would void part of your warranty and probably at the end of the day you wouldn't notice the gain.

Not trying to be a turkey, but you are unfortunately DEAD wrong. I own a GP myself and with minor adds have already added another 35HP to the car. Makes it drive SO much better. Further tweaking the timing and fuel, along with better air flow REALLY makes the car a complete package.

But again, your opinion is totally respected!

I would be more than happy to help. Couple things. When you say modded to the GP level what do you mean?

Have you purchased the JCW kit and had it installed? Or used products like ours to help enhance the performance?

That will help me a TON and I would be happy to help!
Thanks again for the reply! I hope you didn't think I was being a turkey either!

What mods do I need to get that extra 35 hp? Are these mods safe for the engine, etc? Do these mods change the character of the driving experience?

Thanks
Jim

Most of my performance mods are Alta products (pulleys, diverter/water sprayer for example). But I second Jimp's question what mods give you 35HP on top of your GP's already high HP?

Thanks for asking. I am not a vendor on this forum at this time. (WE will be when our Porsche products and website are complete though!) So I don't want to get in any trouble with the staff for any comments made that might sway clients to my products.

Can I ask you guys to kindly e-mail me or PM me your e-mail address so I can send you both some info so as to avoid conflict here?

Let me know if that is an issue!

Thanks again 6speedonline!

Just in case anyone was wondering, the Alta site has a blog post where they take their GP and test Alta parts on it. Replacing the intake and catback with the alta equivalents netted an additional 10hp/10tq. I'm not sure where they are getting the other 25 hp on the GP, but I'm sure they could find a good portion of that in just a tune alone.

Hope this helps anyone who was curious.
