Almost an owner but have a question
Hi Guys and Gals, My name is David B from OKC. I'm currently not a 911 owner but I am about to buy a 2006 911 S and have just one question for all of you before I jump head first into the car of my dreams.
In your best ownership experience should I take a risk and buy this car? It only has 7,500 miles on it. I know low mileage is good; however, I am worried that this may be too low of miles considering the age.
Any advice would be most appreciated and I hope to join you on this forum as an actual proud owner of a 911 soon.
Thanks in advance,
--David

Carfax report is clean. It is a one owner local OKC car. I have receipts for service done about a month ago at the local dealership for and quote "600 Major Maintenance = $920" (not sure what that is) other items include new tires and alignment, new battery, cabin air filter, spark plugs, oil change, brake fluid all totaling about $3500
I'm concerned the car was sitting for a long period and if this would be cause for alarm? Or if driven 1000 miles per year is also ok. Im pretty convinced its an honest car but you know the saying... if its to good to be true it probably is.
Anything I should look for or ask about?
Thanks again

The carfax will validate the mileage history. Plus you can't really mess with the odometers these days.
Finding such a low mileage car is awesome!! You should be happy, not concerned. Nothing wrong with that!
Take it to your local dealer for an inspection. I think most dealers will do that if you pay for it.
How about cosmetically? How does it look?

its definitely been garage kept. no blemishes or oxidation. Some things I noticed were The front boot gas charged lift supports were weak, on the interior the horizontal controls for all the vents were not working possibly broken, they go up and down but not side to side anymore. Also its a Nav car powered by DVD in the trunk. do you know if that system be upgraded with current maps ?

I'd post in the 997 forum. That's the generation for the car you're looking at those guys know a lot. I have a newer car and not as familiar with the previous generation.
You could be into something good. Definitely have someone inspect it though.
You'd have more to worry about if it had 70,000 miles on it rather than under 10,000
