Key here is the fact that he is very familiar with and comfortable with the Porsche already and has stated that he 'still needs to learn' the GTR and is likely not pushing it near its limits. The GTR has its own unique characteristics, any driver will need plenty of seat time to really feel out the GTR and extract the best performance out of it, and I imagine that over time we'll be seeing better and better results.

Great write up! It sounds as though the GTR is equally as fast as a 997TT in the hands of a weekend track warrior. Similiar performance for 60% of the costs, sounds inline with Nissans target. Obviously if i had the $$$, i would get the 997TT any day of the week and twice on sunday.

Sounds about right. Still surprises me how NIssan made that thing turn but I guess it was to be expected after the R34. Took them long enough.
