I know some 996TT members who would say the very same about their issues with the 2nd gear pop-out...

If it's made by man, it has a great chance of failure!

neither do i. i enjoy my 11.6 - 11.7 sec 1/4mi car. i've done over a dozen times. and will do it dozens more... i have no desire to dump my clutch at 5k rpms, and sit and cry when something breaks. perhaps they should not install awd, or some big tires that grip the road...???

and i still haven't figured out a good time to launch the car at the track... perhaps i'll ask my instructor what he recommends i use it for. and we'll explore the necessity of launch control.

perhaps you were trying to get a car so you can go 0-60 in 3.2secs at a stop light?
