Dan, always liked your other projects from the 996 TT beast to your new 997TT.

But have to say, not feeling the GT-R. But looks like it is putting down some power.

I will hold my final opinion for the completed car.

Is everything done in house or farmed out to different specialist?

Everything is done inhouse here at Vivid Racing.

It gets torn apart, but putting it back together is fun too!

Project GT-R is wrapping up here with the enormous painting and installation process. We got the bumper, hood, and rear valance back from the paint shop finally. We are doing the install as we speak. The front bumper we need to paint the side vents black and installs black mesh behind the openings. We decided that instead of fog lights we will be putting functional brake ducting for those holes in either side of the bumper that were morphed in place.

We created some wing risers to give the rear wing a more aggressive look and I think we are going to go with them. Wheels are also at powdercoat being refinished with a flat black inside and flat red outter lip.

While the car was in the air, we slapped on some of the COBB sway bars to help stiffen the chassis and balance out the over and understeer.

Keep checking out all the pics at our gallery here - http://www.vividracing.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=362

Progress is looking good!

However, Those seats are killing me though.
Definitely glad to hear the wheels will soon be black.

I am a Nissan enthusiast and owner at heart, but am still not feeling the wheels, even though I haven't seen the new changes.

Less spokes and a concave wheel design would give this car a great profile as well as revealing the calipers and adding the aggressive appearance.

I would also even try to not mount the spoiler on. Depending on the ride height, a spoilerless look or molded lip spoiler might hit the nail right on the head. Sorry for the criticism. Just sharing my .02 cents.

Props for undertaking this daring project on such new car though!

The wheels were part of a collab effort and sponsorship deal for SEMA. Basically FREE Dollars and 99 cents. I think with them black it should be better. I would rather see like a Advan or Volk on there, but we will make this work. Stay tuned for pics today!

Gotcha. If that is the case, then it is completely understandable.

Black should look way better as well.

Got the side grills on and painted flat black. Bumper vents painted black too. Just got the wheels back. Outside hoops are flat red and centers are being powdercoated flat black. Will have them reinstalled tomorrow!

Is that just a bad pic of the hoops since they look orange?

Alright we got the wheels back and had a chance to snap a picture of them on the GT-R. They look SO MUCH BETTER. Flat black inside with flat red lip. We also got the front bumper installed with our fog lights. We retro fitted some fogs in the holes and then wired the them to an OEM switch next to the steering wheel on the left. More pics on those soon. You can see from the picture with the wheels that we decided to install the wing risers. Something different and we dig it. Monday we will put all 4 wheels on and install the side skirts. With that being said, 99% of the car will be done. We will be able to take final exterior photos after we add some Vivid Racing stickers. Our only other mod is to add the high flow cat downpipes, Agency Power blow off valves, and then redyno on 95octane to reach our final number of about 550awhp.

Keep up to date at www.vividracing.com/forums/project-gt-r
