lol! it might be a little steep...

fluids, brakes (pads), and tires. if you don't track.

i'd estimate, if you get everything done by the dealer...

tires - $2500
pads - $1000
fluids - $2000 or so

orrr

tires at tirerack - $1700
pads $400 - $500
fluids purchased individually - $1000 - $1200

i guess there is smart ownership, and lazy ownership... i'm the lazy type. and i'll pay the dealer. i just scheduled a trip to the dealer for new tires (they were on sale) - $1890 installed (and i don't have to worry about finding nitrogen).

The GTR is a great daily driver. Slightly more comfortable and practical than the porsche. In regards to service, go purchase a pre-paid service plan, negotiate well and save some money.

i wasnt aware that you could purchase the service plan from the dealer. i may have to look into that. has anyone had to do brakes yet? my dealer claims they are 11k. i find that hard to believe. that would be a deal breaker for me.

+1.

and +1.

if you're going to track the car, upgrade the brakes to something less expensive.

AP Racing rotors $1170 for the set - carbotech (or other track pad) $300 - $600 for the pair.

factory rotors are about $1k per rotor.

and pads are over $500/pair.

From my dealer -
OIL CHANGE WITH FILTER $160.08
FT DIFFERENTIAL FLUID $123.00
REAR DIFFERENTIAL $255.00
BRAKE FLUID CHANGE $300.00
TRANSMISSION SERVICE $1014.89

DEDUCT $45.00 IF THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND TRANSMISSION ARE SERVICED AT THE SAME TIME
That is parts/labor plus tax, plus disposal fees, etc...

Do it yourself and save about 30-40% over the dealership cost.
I DD a 2005 STi about 20k a year and do the maintenance myself. Its cheaper than getting the wifes Rover serviced at the dealership

Every GT-R has squeaky brakes. That is the sound stopping power.

Seriously. Any brake setup worth a crap squeaks when cold. If he wants the squeaking to stop, tell him to warm them up.

This is also mentioned in the manual.
