If you are looking for raw, in your face power, go with ZO6. If you are looking for refined, cutting edge technology, go with GTR. Both accomplish the same goal but from different perspective.

I honestly think the GTR is a great car based on all of the hype and it's great performance on and off the track. However IMO, a ZO6 is all of the GTR and more! I would definitley consider picking up a used or new ZO6 compared to the new GTR. The styling and performance can't be beat for the price. It's an absolute beast, but at the end of the day, you should test each car and see which one best fits your standards. My opinion might sound bias because I own a vette but it really isn't. I haven't driven a GTR but I know people who have and I've consulted with them and I'm basing my opinion from their thoughts. Overall, both cars are awesome!!!! You have a hard choice on your hands.

Not sure what answer your looking for.

Everybody will give you an opinion based on there preference. Not everybody is the same.

You really need to drive them to their potential or own both cars to really appreciate their differences.

As to driving slow around town. The GTR can be boring, while the torque of the Z can be entertaining. Being stuck in nasty freeway traffic will suck in a Z but not a problem in the GTR.

On the track. You might pull faster time in the GTR but the Z might be more fun from the challenge of keeping it in control.

There are so many pros and cons, I can go forever. You really need to experience both cars.

BTW... my Porsche is the slowest car out of them all. But around town I prefer the Porsche. Go figure.

I havent driven the GTR yet, but i can tell you the Z06 is SO much fun. I would get an 08 and change the seats like you said.

Theres a guy out here in Miami who traded in his Z06 for a GTR and he said he regrets it. Said the Z06 is much more fun to drive.

And i personally think the Z is way better looking.

Bring it to Roebling Road Aug 1st, let me drive it. You can sit on pit wall and listen.

lol! Nah, I let the wife drive it around VIR for a few hours, I can hear the engine (sounds like a jet), but the exhaust rumble is quite tame.

Have you considered CLK 63BS? I know those are tad more than high 60s, but may be worth a test drive.
