R34 GTR Skyline
Hi guys
I live in New Zealand and a couple of months ago I bought this beast from the east. A standard 1999 R34 GTR Skyline, nothing has been modified, I am going to keep it standard because I think it it will hold it's value better that way.
Any other Skyline owners in New Zealand on here?

Cheers mate, a standard one like this will set you back about $40k US. But you cant import them into NZ anymore because of it's age. The ones coming in now can't be registered for road use.
What would a legal Motorex R34 in America cost if you could find one for sale?

Motorex cars here in the US trade hands around $100k. The Kaizo cars were going for in the $75k range. Other than legal cars you see in the 50k ish range.
I worked at Motorex from 1999-2002, and on another note I was born in New Zealand, but lived most of my life here in the US.

Yeah I read about the Kaizo cars, personally I think they are legal, with the whole import the chassis and fit an engine. But that's just me. Have any of the Kaizo's been impounded?

My GTR is not concourse, it's 10 years old after all, it's only traveled 64,000km. Thinking of doing a few track days, maybe get another set of wheels with Toyo R888 fitted for that extra grip.

Three of the cars have been seized from the Kaizo offices.

I was crew chief on a race team that ran a couple of ex-Super Taikyu R34's in World Challenge in 2006. I have a little bit of experience with running R34's. http://gtrusa.blogspot.com/search/la...ld%20Challenge . Tough experience, but an experience.

Lately I've been feeling like I need to do some mods on it, just get it up to about 450hp at the wheels. What do you guys think I can do to achieve that? As far as I understand it's relatively easy to get it to make that type of power, I might be wrong though

T I don't know if this is common or not. I will perhaps sometime in the future do a suspension rebuild, but that's only if I really want it to be in concourse condition.

Your major limiting factors with a stock car is stock injectors 444 cc, stock ceramic exhaust wheels in the turbochargers, stock clutch.

Honestly, not worth it unless its required by law. In the US its not a requirement.
