Seriously coinsidering a GTR as a new daily...

But most of it is from the runflats.
There is almost no engine/exhaust noise when just cruising. I actually get a lot of comments about how quiet the car is (too quiet - apparently).

I don't use mine as a daily driver but I think it can be with a set of snow tires. I drive it as long as there is no snow on the road. The car is not loud at all, I'm replacing the mid-pipes soon

I think the car is a great bargain for the price. Regarding the issues, there are not many to speak of. The cars are incredibly well built, however if you plan to abuse the car, one of the main things is you will NEED to look at a transmission cooler, as the trannies do NOT like heat.

This thread is interesting. Was seriously considering a S4 as a daily driver, but now that the prices are within 5-10k (used GTR vs new S4), maybe a GTR makes sense. I need to motor my daughter around in the back seat (thus the S4), but maybe I sacrifice my back a little putting her in her car seat for some additional crazy performance.
That said, the S4 is an incredible car. More than sufficient performance, but I have more passion for the GTR (although I've never driven it since dealers up here won't let people even touch them). I know they are entirely two different cars, and since this is the GTR section, you guys are prolly biased, but curious if anyone has been in my position comparing the two?

I was seriously considering a GTR also but my local dealers are all being beyond lame. Still charging $10,000 over sticker for it. Which I guess is better then the $25,000 they were charging when it first came out. They tell me that since they had to pay $20,000 to be certified by Nissan to sell/ service the GTR it is basically my problem since they are tacking extra $ on to every GTR sold to recoup it. Plus you can not drive it. I was shocked when they let me sit in it. So I bought an IS-F and told the dealers to call me when they get tired of staring at the GTR in the showroom and get realistic on price. Since it has been there since August.

It is true that to be a GT-R dealer you have to invest in equipment, techs, and support. So 20k sounds right. I know my dealer had to pay something like that amount.
My previous car was a 996TT. And before that, I had an C32 AMG and a CLK 55 amg. The GT-R is soooo superior to the cars Ive owned. Made them feel dated and old school. The GT-R truly is a supercar to be driven everyday. I have a 10 year old and a 14 year old and they fit fine in the back. Of course not like a good 4 door sedan, but they arent uncomfortable either. The performance is just scary sick! The traction is incredible. And the tranny, though known through the internet as the "weak point", truly makes the GT-R. It is brutally fast in its shifts.
It isnt anymore expensive to maintain than other high end cars. Of course once you start tracking the car, well tires, brakes, fluids, can add up. Just be smart! Thats why we have forums to help each other out finding reasonable prices. Love my GT-R. Plan to keep it for a long time!

plenty of used and new cars on the market. prices will begin to decline steadily in my opinion over the next 12-24 months. here in az deals were being made on 2010's below invoice! the car is incredible no doubt but the
inventory at the moment is in greater supply than the buyers at the current prices.

+1
GTR wasn't even out yet when I was shopping for cars. I basically said what are the three best four door super saloons, M3, C63 and IS-F......and which one can I get the best deal on!
I would take a used GTR with 5k miles on it over said saloons in a heartbeat
