Hey guys, my first post here. Always viewed the forums alot, decided to finally hop in the discussions. I'm tossing around the idea of eventually getting a gt-r.

Was just curious if you are able to drive your gt-r's around in peace, or if people are constantly egging you on?

And for reference, I'm talking about driving around town, highway, etc. Not the track, clearly well....at the track you can actually react to it.

 

I guess with any sports car, you will always get people here and there trying to egg you on. Just ignore them.

Depending where you drive, the GT-R does attract a lot of attention. People still ask all kinds of questions about the car when I drive it. It does have a papparazzi fallowing. All good though.

 

Yea, I'm a young guy and cops already have a giant target on me. I get pulled over for stupid stuff like tint, or doing 6 over (I'm not kidding).

I've had friends get pulled over for street racing just because they were next to each other at a light (and clearly knew a cop was behind then, nonetheless...and they didn't accelerate hard or surpass the speed limit).

NJ is probably the second worst state for a nice car, behind Cali in terms of rules, that's the main thing holding me back...

 

I get this everytime... From the stereotypical Honda owner, to the Mustang Cobra owner, and more recently (oddly enough) - Acura TL's.

I refuse to exceed the speed limits to the point of a race. But I have no problem with embarassing somebody from 0-55mph. It's always funny to see the look of their faces (in the rear view mirror) when you just "leave."

It happens if you drive anything that looks fast. Do you have to drop down to their level no.

 

No, but people in their GTRs try to race me, well, actually, they pull bus-lengths on me.

 

I just ignore them, not worth getting a ticket over.

 

Just yesterday, some balding, middle-aged, gray haired old man in a C6 Z06 tried to coax me into a race...

Some kids...

 

I just cruise most of the time. They all know the facts but they still want to see the action in getting killed.

Most often its boy racers in Subi's or Evo's ...always trying to take out their senior Japanese leader

 

Good thing for you, stock vs stock Z06 would wipe a GTR......Just sayin


I've seen and driven in 500+hp STi's and Evos that would stomp a mudhole in a stock GTR......be careful what you wish for

 

Wow- do you think I dont know that there is always something faster out there? Im sure there is a Ford Pinto that would lay waste on me too. Im just speaking from experience and yes I own one plus a few other reasonably fast rides.

LOL Thanks, my GTR has the HKS GT600 kit plus 800cc injectors and the Titek Ti Exhaust- not remotely as fast as those Switzer machines but similar cars run 130traps in the 10's...

There are so many modded GTR's running low 10's, it's getting common place! Unreal power potential from this car, it's almost illegal
