It's not a GT-R.
Its a Hakosuka (Skyline GT) 2dr hard top. (KGC10) SOHC motor.
The GT-R is a (KPGC10) S20 DOHC 432 motor and as clean as the OP thread starters car sell for about $120,000usd now.
Btw a used one of these motors missing parts normally sells for about 20,000-40,000usd if your lucky to find one.

My car is a kgc10. In japan, it's common for these to have the gtr body parts installed. The main difference between the kgc10 and kpg10 was the motor and rear over fenders. The gtr s20 motor, was dohc and was rated at 160hp. Since mine came with the sohc L20 motor, I was able to swap it out for a 220hp L28 motor. Factor in my aftermarket suspension, LSD and triple carbs, this car is much more fun to drive than the factory kpgc10. I dont have to worry about it so much. With the gtr, I would be hesitant to change any parts. The car is really too classic and valuable for aftermarket parts. I would prefer it to be all original. Gtr's really can sell in the $100,000 price range. In japan a good condition kgc10 would only cost around $35,000-$40,000 after you get it state side. They have ones that cost less, but they would end up costing you more money to get into shape. These cars are pushing 40 years old, so rust is a major concern. The cheaper cars usually have rust issues or are missing parts. Parts can be hard to get as well. With this car, I'm free to modify whatever I choose without hurting the value or it's nostalgia.

There are few "R" versions with a rear roll bar that had a center bar that was down the middle.
"R" versions are Orange / Black hood - mostly this designated for the S30 432 "Z" cars.

Skylin818,
Where can you find a good kgc10 for $15,000 shipped stateside? I've seen some cheap ones but they were all pretty rusty and seemed to need a lot of work. I would think restoration jobs would be much better in japan, but it seems pretty common for these older cars to have rust areas covered over with fiber glass and just painted over. I even saw one with a rotted frame that was covered over with fiber glass. How could that pass the 2 year inspection they do in japan? I guess you could find one through the auctions in japan. But you would have to factor in the airfare and stay costs. And towing to the port and deregistration.
Do you know if anyone makes a rb weber intake manifold? I want to start building a rb25de. Maybe even a rb26 if I can find a good deal on just the block and head. But I want to keep it carburated with some weber 45s. I've seen some in japan, but most have adapter plates. I think they're all pretty much custom made. If I had to custom make a manifold I would probably rather just go with a stock rb25det. Parts for this car are a whole lot cheaper than they are for my 997 and Cayenne. The cost of Porsche parts are crazy. Rb26dett motor and tran would be cheaper than my 997 exhaust.

.
Just a matter of shopping around for the good shops in japan who might have one and bascially comes down to contacts.
Temp plates
Nope , auctions would be the last place to look unless you want to over pay.
AE111 throttle bodies 44mm map sensor
chop and redo them to fit on a L 6 motor
Also if your are lucky to find Fujitsubo headers
RB26valve covers
will need an aftermarket ECU like haltec or something along those lines
use the RB20DET transmission because if not you will have to cut the transmission tunnel to make it fit Rb20 2wd trans can hold up to 500hp
but if its granade launched with a unspring clutch 350hp it would hold.

If you go this way there is a R32 Non turbo AUTEC Rb26DE non turbo 300Hp motor its auto but that can be easily changed into a 5 speed to swap into your car these motors are very rare Nissan only made 200 of and now there are very few when they do pop up for sale they are about the price of the car, bascially all of the turbo components of the motor but do not have any turbos. Since its a FI motor mpg is about 22mpg
.
If you go with a Rb26 = 33=34 (34)has forged internals
and to make it NA would be a matter of swapping pistons and going with a 11.1 comp set up for it.
as for the RB25DET (R34) version is the best - proper lift - HKS V-cam set up stock from the factory for in & EX and solid lifters + as a mod tricks that is being used now is utilizing the R34 Neo head on the RB26 bottom end as a way for high hp top end. Btw stay away from the RB30's max you will be able to get out of it as far as revs go is 6k.
My only reason for not owning a Porsche as what you mentioned, but with quality comes a price .
btw will post some pix of one of my friends Nissan S14 200sx/silvia in Germany with the motor he picked up off me, he's running lap times a just about sub times on the current GTR.
SR20DET using a NEO VVL head.

The 72 Skylines are one of the bests ones but they are very rare since the 1st fuel crisis cut its fate and racing career short. Performance skylines didnt come back untill the late 70's and the 211's are not anything to rave about but they were the stepping stones to what we all get to enjoy now.
