Great run! I was hoping you could make it tommorow. Where those runs at MIR today? What mods do you have done, tune and exhaust? You said you were leaving over 3k rpms so did you have the Cobb tranny upgrade done also? My car only boosts to around 2700 rpms.

We were at VMP today (Dinwiddie). The tranny is stock. The only mods I have are a Switzer cat-back (stock downpipes), drop-in filters and tune.
Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks! Thats a really good run, what technique do you use to get the rpms over 3k on launch? I will be out with Mike Levitas tommorow as he tries to put that GT2 into the 9's. Mike is a big fan of the GTR also, I will make sure to tell him what you ran, but he already knows the GTR's are kickass!

Give Mike my best and tell him I wish him luck!

After you've depressed the throttle and brake to use LC, let go of the throttle, and immediately (and quickly) depress it to the floor again. RPM should rise, and will stay elevated for a couple of seconds at the most. You can do it a 3rd time to get more RPM, but on the stock tires, it may be too much. You just have to play with it a few times to find a good
Awesome run!!! You sure this wasn,t the GT2 at 1/2 throttle Makes me excited? Maybe I can break into 10's even at my altitude once Tym tunes it. Good job.
So R-R-off? are people not as nervous about VDC off as once before?

congrats Scott. the stage 1 kit is definitely a great bang for the buck package. just imagine how she would feel with an additional 200 hp on top end! the best part is, you can peel off 10 second runs pass after pass as these cars are very easy to drive consistently.

Congrats, Scott!
That is a phenomenal time for those mods. Sounds like a great day to run it. Your times are actually giving me second thoughts about who to have tune my car.
See, that is where the a problem exists for me...
It became so predictable, because the results are so repeatable, that there is no need to take the car to any 1/4 strips anymore, once you get the car tuned. You know what it'll do, by calculating the DA before you even leave the house.
Funny enough, the GT-R is one of those cars you can bench race, for straight line runs - but can't really for road courses (like Leh Keen's 2:02 around VIR on all-season tires).

Congrats nice run for such minimal mods. BTW, what kind of No Driving Fool were you lined up against? I've been racing at drag strips for close to 20 years and have never seen anyone cut a 3.5 60 foot. LOL.

Ha ha...it was a guy in a bolt-on Mustang GT that was making his very first pass down a dragstrip.

I imagine seats could be changed as well, but that would be going backwards IMO since the stock seats are so comfortable and useful.
I think there are also some CF exterior parts for the cars that also cost a lot of coin.
I'll keep mine full weight and just work on making more power if I want to go faster. It already handles better than anything I've ever driven, so I don't need weight loss to help with that.
