Thanks, David. Believe me, I already am imagining how she'd feel with an additional 200 HP! I'm actually having a difficult time NOT thinking about it.

I lost 45 lb with my Switzer Ti cat-back. I'm sure I'd lose more with with Ti DPs as well. You can shave a little weight spending big-bucks for different wheels, but the stockers are actually very light for their size.
I imagine seats could be changed as well, but that would be going backwards IMO since the stock seats are so comfortable and useful.
I think there also CF exterior pats for the car that also cost a lot of coin.
I'll keep mine full weight and just work on making more power if I want to go faster. It already handles better than anything I've ever driven, so I don't need weight loss to help with that.

Great job Scott. You easily have a 10.5 GTR with a better launch. Practice on the street a few times and you'll be cutting high 1.50's next trip to the track.
You need to run your friends crazy Proto 996 from a street dig. I bet you'd be beat him 4 out of 5 times!

One thing I failed to mention was that the crew at the dragstrip kept getting water outside of the water box, all over the staging lanes. I literally couldn't stage without driving through it. So, my tires were wet every time I lined up! It really made launching difficult.

Since "He" will never come on here and defend himself I will do it for him.
I don't think you'd take 5 out of 5 if he turned up the wick and went full tilt.

Not even knowing anything about the Proto build (other than hearing its about as fast of a build as one can do to a 996) - I'd put money on Scott walking that 996 from a dig to say 120-130.

Scott,
Is your previous 996 Proto car in the hands of an owner located in MI?? If so, the car is here and I have seen him out and about on Woodward Avenue. If that's the case, I will be looking to get some runs with him when I get my car back from Switzer, althought I would suspect that he would beat me.

I'm sure from a higher roll the 996 would hold its own.
I have ran back to back 10.61 and 10.63 @ 136 mph 1/4's in my Z06 but I'd probably lose 3 out of 5 if not 4 out 5 to Scott's GTR.

It's all about traction.

The GTR is an impressive car from a dig and up to 100 or 120. But this race would be in the GTR's wheelhouse and not really in the 996's. Not only is the GTR going to launch better but the 996 has to shift a few times. Maybe a roll from 20 or 30 up to 130 or 150 would be better.

From a roll is a different story. Both 996's (mine and his) would be faster than my GT-R. By the 1/8th mile mark, I'm trapping 116 in my GT2 but only 103 in the GT-R, so from a roll the P-cars would definitely win.
But again, I'm not even at 550 whp in my GT-R and it weighs 4,000 lbs with me in it...so it's very impressive for what it is.
