tt S vs 2012 GT-R
I'm not sure anyone here wants to hear this but the reviews on the new Nissan are quite good. The stats earily similar- 530 hp, awd, double clutch tranny making for sub 3 sec 0-60 runs that are repeatable and covered by the warranty. Only big difference is the price- 1/2 as much. For those of us where 170 K isn't small change...

I can't speak for owners here, but I bought my S less for the numbers but more for the feel and look of the 911. An impossible childhood dream come true!!

Same concept, but I don't recall any discussions here between the Turbo S and 2012 GT-R.
I think these two are very closely matched, no?
Both 0-60: ~2.9 secs ... GT-R 2.8secs Turbo S 3.1 (as advertised, actual time, I believe, was either 2.9 or 3.0 for the Turbo S).
Both DCT
Both AWD
Both Top speed 196mph
Both 530HP
I mean, how much more equal can you get?

Nevermind. I was going off of Porsche's claimed time along with another review. I think the Nissan's best is only 2.88 (or something like that). I didn't see this as a win/lose thing (I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings). For those of you that need it - 2.6 seems quite fast.

Sorry if I posted to the wrong forum. I was wondering if I forgot to hit the submit button. I did not even know ther was a GT-R forum.

Actually I wish this was still in the GT2 997 Turbo forum as it is much better visited, And I was indeed looking to stir up a little controversy, but more specifically get the opinions of people who had driven or ridden in both.

never one to add to these post but the fact is, a Porsche will always have value. in fact, if a Porsche is in great shape its worth can be 30k plus many decades after. yes that nissan is a fast car, but Porsche is personality type, not just a fast car. in ten years that nissan will be worth 15-20k max. nissan will never have the prestige of any porsche, never.. and 100k is not cheap.... just my 10 cents... but that car is fast!!!
