How many Z06's have there been?

GT-R may not be the only car available in the bang for buck category, but if you look at it objectively (as bang/buck proponents have been doing for years), then the GT-R delivers more performance for the money. In Motor Trend's test between the '12 GT-R and Z06 w/Z07 package, the Nissan was quicker, lapped faster, and cost $7K less than the Chevy.
If we're to make allowances for the Chevy due to GM's limitations, then we should make allowances for the Nissan to make up that $7k difference. In which case, it's not looking good for the Z07.
BTW, I'm not one of those proponents of bang/buck.
Note that these times were with a professional driver. He drove the Z07 without any traction control. He also did not recommend driving this car without it unless you were a professional driver.

Thus with the "average Joe" driver using traction control in the Z07, I am sure the time difference between him driving the Corvette and a GT-R with its so called "nanny controls", would very much greatly favor the faster GT-R. Perhaps even seconds faster per lap.

Great cars, though. Might be the perfect car to compliment my GT-R with.
Jamie is on this forum, then another guy that goes by Racerns to...when I say have I did not mean it was easy! I like the GTR, but I prefer the Z06 due to the fact I am mentally crazed....I did own a nitrous C5 for a while.

I know you understand being a previous GT2 owner of that feeling of reward when you get it right but with the thought in the back of your head about how close to death you were. I still think the GTR is an absolute terror when modified right....freeway wheelspin is fun but not very fast!

The Z06 has PTM meaning you can set it to just floor it out of a corner and the car will adjust the power its putting down. The Z06 is not a car that will suffer fools gladly, the GTR is much more competent in that area.

It's only a matter of time before a 2012 GTR will get into the 10's stock.

If they can run 11.07 at Moroslow I know it can be done with the right weather.

11.02 1/4 Bone stock GT-R.

Must have been a professional driver on slicks, knowing the exact shift points, hitting the paddles with razor-like precision...

Umm, nope. Just an average joe in his first ever trip with it, running in auto mode.

I don't mind being proven wrong, if its a ten second car bone stock that just ups the probability that I will eventually own one....and a Z06!
