Godzilla has arrived...
As some of you know. I have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of my 2012 GTR Back Edition. First off I'd like to thank a few people who helped make this happen.
First our very own Divvextreme... Scott's informative posts and dedication to the 60-130 and everything road racing has helped educate me on the GTR platform. Scott and I spoke via PM a few times about GTR's and his knowledge and enthusiasm for the Model was comforting. Knowing how picky Scott is about his cars... I knew/know if it's good enough for Scott then it would most likely meet my expectiations as well. THANKS SCOTT!
Neil Switzer... Neil and I have been talking over the last few months about me potentially picking up a already built GTR or a New/Newer car. A few weeks ago I happened to call Neil to catch up one Friday and asked if he had any good leads on any cars. Neil mentioned one that was just listed a day before in Michigan, that it looked like a good deal and to boot it only had 2250 Miles!!! I asked if he wanted the car since he found it first. He told me to "go for it" and see if i could get the story on it. THANKS NEIL!
This led to my call to Suburban Nissan and my introduction to Brent Ohara. On the phone Brent quickly told me that the listed price was actually below what they wanted for the car. However since it was their fault they would honor the price. Brent and the folks at Suburban Nissan made this transaction super smooth and went out of their way to make sure every concern was taken care of. I would highly recomend Brent and his team for any car purchase. THANKS BRENT!!!!
I quickly put a deposit on the car and made arrangements to have it shipped to Switzer Performance for upgrades. At this point i was introduced to Ethan Christopher who is the project manager at Switzer. It was decided that I would do the P600 upgrade now along with , H&R Springs, H&R wheels spacers and a Escort 9500 thrown in for good measure. I was considering the P800 package but due to the lead time and the fact I have never driven even a stock GTR.. I wanted to be able to appreciate each level of upgrade. So it was decided if and when I decide on more power that it would be most likely in the fall when I will do it. THANKS ETHAN!
Fast foward to this week.... Well this past Monday I got Knee surgury on my right knee. So driving was definitely going to be out for a few days. I get a call from Ethan after my surgury that the car was picked up Monday and would most likely be at my house TUESDAY!!!
So... Here it is... It was delivered yesterday afternoon. Once I get some seat time I will definitely give everyone my impressions. This was a difficult decision as I was considering many other very fast cars to replace my Proto 24/18G 996 Turbo. I expect this car to be everything and more...
Stay tuned....
