NNA should have been involved if a certified GT-R dealer wouldn't perform GT-R service (it's in the manual).
Indeed. My problem was getting the car in the winter. I needed to change to snow tires or all seasons. Had to change them almost immediately after I got the car.

Yeah well, couldn't make them do it. Nissan in New Rochelle New York. They wouldn't do it. They are (were) a certified dealer. Just added to my aggravation.

There is no shame at finishing 2nd 3rd or ???
All these are great cars and slower than the latest GTR
That car is 1 year away with special order seats, shocks, body panels and aero. A 918, P1 and LaF beat the Nismos time there and it isn't even in the top 10 of production cars at Laguna: http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/laguna_seca.html

Ahhhh... Were the tires you were taking off still good ones?

Because, as stated in the manual (and recommended by either Bridgestone or Dunlop), once you take off the run flats, they should not go back on.

Now we've seen plenty of people who swap out runflats for track tires, and then back. So by any chance - was your request involving "may I have the tires changed for the Winter, and then back when Spring comes around?"

Because if that was the case, I could definitely see why the dealer would refuse.

Model will be offered in that trim at the showroom. No special order anything.

The only place they would need to be ordered is in the USA, because of the lack of airbags.

The 918 is not a regular production car , costs plus $ 1,000,000 and is THE FASTEST CAR at the ring.
The P-1 and la Ferrari have not posted any times so ???????????????
For $1,300,000 they should do it. Again , not really a production car

If a 458 or 911 can run even close to 7:08 , now we have something to talk about.
I think if you told Nissan , they could sell 300 special GTR's for 1,000,000 and could modify as needed ????????????
The GTR takes lots of crap on this site AND MOST OF IT IS NOT TRUE.
I am not ever selling mine ..................................
TOO WONDERFUL A CAR FOR SO LITTLE MONEY.

Nope. Just wanted to put on new all seasons. Run flats are very difficult to mount. 20" size makes them all the more challenging. Add to that very expensive rims, no normal tire store wants to touch them, even a store that would mount a non run flat 20.

I've also seen that warning about remounting. What a bunch of crap.

To add to this........ Discount tire all over the south has repaired 2 of my Bridgestone run flats . They only charged 30.00 to fix a nail twice.
Too bad your area / dealer are so messed up.
I don't track or run at plus 150 mph so they told me no worries mate.

Not offered in that trim in the US showrooms, is that what you're stating? Did you see my link to the latest C&D article? It reiterated the package at the 'Ring is composed of special order parts, not from the dealer showroom. Are you also stating the airbags are removed?

Because if that is the case, then a proper comparison would be a GT3 Cup Car rather than a production car.

Explain how the 918 isn't a production car? Because it just so happens the NISMO equipped for 7:08 is NOT a production car, it is special-order parts and NOT even available for 1 year.

And you completely skipped NINE different PRODUCTION cars have lapped MRLS quicker than the GT-R Black and Track Editions. Including the 458 and 911 GT2...

The GT-R IS great, but lets keep it real.

....
Not exactly.

The car will be released in that trim (the name is still changing, most recently - Time Attack Version). And it may be released in that trim in the US, just not the seats. The seats used are a single piece of CF, without airbags. So only the seats would be different, based on US laws. If someone in the US wanted the exact model, owners may have to purchase the seats (either special order, or just purchase on the JDM market), and then say they aren't going to drive it on the streets (a la typical aftermarket mod BS).

Nissan today introduced the highly anticipated N Attack Package for the GT-R NISMO. The N Attack Package consists of modifications that Nissan made to the GT-R NISMO to maximize on track performance and ultimately achieve its 7'08" time on the famed Nurburgring track. Key features of the N Attack Package include enhanced aerodynamics to increase downforce, a reduction in overall body weight, and chassis tuning specifically designed for the needs of performing on a challenging circuit such as the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

While we have already known the specifications of the GT-R NISMO and even the general concept of the N Attack Package, the announcement confirms what specifically comprises the package. These modifications are as follows:

Engine & Powertrain
*New intercooler/intake piping in carbon and aluminum
*Front LSD
*Rear Carbon Plate LSD
*Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module
*Optional: NISMO Titanium Exhaust

Suspension & Brakes
*Ohlins 4-way shocks and relaxed spring rate springs
*Adjustable roll bars
*Front brake pads

Exterior
*Carbon composite front fenders with aerodynamic extensions
*Carbon composite hood with gurney flap
*Carbon composite front lower spoiler add on lip
*Carbon composite rear wing with two point height adjustment and 12 point angle adjustment

Interior
*Recaro full carbon composite bucket seats
*SpecV rear seat finishing trim
*Carbon composite rear bulkhead chassis reinforcement

Overall, the list is more extensive than anticipated, particularly with respect to the differentials, adjustable roll bars, adjustability of the rear wing, and the inclusion of the rear carbon composite bulkhead. It remains to be seen what's involved with the installation of these components as the list looks fairly extensive. Nissan has also stated that the target price in the United States is under $200,000 all inclusive.

As of now, we believe that the N Attack Package will be offered everywhere that the GT-R NISMO is offered, as a post-purchase option. We also believe the package's price will hover somewhere in the US$30K range. That said, this is only our guess and it remains to be seen exactly how and where Nissan will offer the package. Nissan states that additional information, particularly with respect to final specification details, pricing and the sales method will be announced this summer.
Sorry, this has been out for 4 days... I'm slacking. I should have known sooner. I did, I just didn't know there was written evidence yet.

Good info but it still states post-purchase option as I originally stated.
This isn't a production car, it's a a factory package special.

I'm also curious of the ECM will be EPA/CARB compliant. If it isn't, might as well include production based race cars or anything else modded for that matter.

The Recaros already take it into a gray area in terms of production car US vs. Europe.

I see this 'package' as similar to the factory trim of the Track Pack GT-R. The Track Pack is a production trim level.

It was possible years ago to boost OEM GT-R's to NISMO levels, by purchasing the NISMO ECM. One of the biggest deals for this GT-R coming to the 'States was that this version is US compliant. Every trim level has been CARB compliant. I don't see why this would be any different.

*edit: It's possible I'm drawing an equivalent to the old Skyline GT-R Spec Nur models (which was also a factory production model).

Being CARB compliant would be great.

But for now, sources agree it isn't a production package/car. However, IF it is factory street legal, that could be the qualifier when comparing various cars.
