You can also buy a $20,000 car and put $80,000 in performance and beat the GTR!!! Would you do it? It's all about the speed no?

Hey Leo,
That's it only reversed. I have a 60,000 GTR with 40,000 in upgrades that makes 1100 HP.
Nothing tops that , and lambos are expensive to improve and are slow , really slow stock.... This will not end nicely for you

I respect your opinion and taste for cars... But there is a reason why Nissan GTR are way cheaper...

ok, to each his or her own........ Thats my point , if I wanted an other car, I would just go get 1 or 2 ........ . With the GTR , I can have 2 or more , 1 stock, 1 race etc for less money all around.

I agree with you... One thing is for sure! The exotic cars market is about to change... I think Europeans sport cars are way overprice... American and Japanese cars are faster and way cheaper... If Germans & Italians want to stay in business they are gonna have to lower their prices to be more competitive. It's not all about a nice interior and exotic lines!! Lol

It is also about power, pedigree, dealer service and technology. The price disadvantage has been there for decades and they still sell, quite well.

And the frontal area of both is what? Add it up and the 458 will probably be more aerodynamic. The look of the GTR is also dictated by engine placement, drivetrain layout and having rear seats. Nissan GTR
-Price is unbeatable

I had way better experience in the Nissan dealer when I bough my 350Z than in the Lamborghini or Porsche dealer....
I'm really hope Toyota come out with a new Supra!!! I will get one for sure...

Have we regressed here again?
Neither is the GT-R. 0-60 is such tiny part of its capabilities. I hope everyone here knows that. It is just a measure of daily driven acceleration. I know that when it is my time to merge on or off a highway, or pass someone hyper-mile-ing in their Prius on a city street, I can put the car pretty much anywhere I want to.
I always say that although the acceleration is great, the stopping is better, but the cornering and the ability to apply that power is the best part. The mere fact they all come fully loaded as standard was just the icing on the proverbial cake.
Of course - it is a daily drivable car with supercar performance. I don't think it tries to be something it is not.

Agree with the comments GTR's look is the main drawback for a lot of exotic high end car buyers and I suspect if GTR had an attractive exterior that satisfied the expectations from the majority of onlookers then it would be a winner over many of the current high end exotics, I'm quite sure of that. I think the best way to appraise GTR's current appearance is to ask ones self would they honestly call it attractive it if it did not have its current performance credentials. I personally don't mind the look of the car from certain angles but to me it is not what I would consider an attractive car and, if it didnt' have its performance I probably wouldn't give it a seconds glance. But that's me and, as i know what it is and that it goes real hard I give it certain attention/respect. That said i'm a car person where many other car owners or onlookers that cant identify with the car would probably just think its another Hyundai or something like that, that is trying to make a styling statement. I think it's best angle is dead on looking at the rear in traffic where it looks relatively tough with its large 4 pipes. It also looks better stationary than moving but from certain angles moving it unfortunately looks quite ugly to me...no offence to those that own them.
Anyway, maybe one day GTR's looks will match its performance credentials and until that day arrives something tells me the others will unfortunately continue to charge the ridiculous prices they are currently getting away with.

Seriously, though - I like it because it is a deviation from what is expected to be normal. It is definitely a different design philosophy. It is distinctly NOT German or Italian. For those that have a preference of German looks, the GT-R is a massive departure, and maybe too extreme...
I am looking forward to the new (possibly EBA) design, 7-speed dual clutch, additional performance enhancements, etc...

I love the GT-R. For the roughly $100k range, I would also consider the C63 Coupe AMG, M6, GT-R, etc. And for a daily driver, with that AWD, it is tough to beat.
Keep in mind, if the GT-R was made like a Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren, perhaps Porsche, by a company of their size, it would cost every bit of their prices, and maybe even end up lighter.
Price is tough to beat except by the Z-06 Z07?. Performance, overall maybe. Of the 7 distinct models that have outlapped the fastest GT-R iteration at Laguna, all of them have a higher 1/4 mile trap speed as well. Not as a consistent launch though.
I called on all dealers for nearly 6 years, and there is no question what market segment I would rather deal with despite excellence at both ends of the spectrum. Not only that, the GT-R s/b an Infniti anyway.
Very well said. It is yet another excellent choice.
I'm not sure for how long... The only reason why I don't get a GTR is because of the looks...

This NISMO version will be THE GT-R to get... The last full combustion version.
Williams is officially helping NISMO develop the next gen GT-R (R36) hybrid. We all know that performance will increase (no way the GT-R performance suffers).
My biggest concern with the NISMO, especially after the price increase of (worthless) SpecV parts, is how much more this lightened, yet more beefy, version will cost...
Better suspension? Check
More power? Check
Better aero? Check
Lighter weight? Check
Better gearbox? Check
New interior? Check
Better overall performance? Check
More MSRP? CHECK

Fascinating. I want one.
But the engine is partially hand assembled, and that isn't much of a clean room. I wonder what MERV rating the air filters are?
The gearing is definitely a major factor of the acceleration enabled by AWD, never mind weight distribution.
How is the active suspension a world first?

If that is news, trying learning about the 3 different grades of labelled pistons...
