EuroSunday Bay Area Recap:

This April, EuroSunday Bay Area converged on Mountain View for its first appearance on the Peninsula. There were 172 cars in attendance despite the array of events going on (such as the Long Beach Grand Prix). One of the first cars on site was a 1968 Lamborghini Miura, following the Miura, we had numerous other standout cars including three Porsche GT3RSs. Two of these GT3RSs are currently featured on the front of Modified Luxury and Exotic magazine for April. Also seen at this month’s event…a BMW M3 lightweight, an Ariel Atom, a Porsche 993 RUF R Turbo, several forced-induction e46 BMWS M3s, a nice row of BMW 6-series, a Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, and a fleet of American thunder in the form of Corvettes, and Vipers. The atmosphere was full of enthusiasm, so much in fact that Mountain View and Los Altos black and white finest showed up to hangout. You know you have a good event when the boys in blue are acting just like the rest of us kids in a candy store.

In April, the staff here at EuroSunday decided to try a new format for our afternoon rallies. While we had the traditional afternoon drive to lunch, we now offer an afternoon roundtrip rally with lunch. Sunday’s rally start from Mt. View began with a jaunt down the freeway towards Woodside. From Woodside we made our way down the infamous NorCal highway 84. This is one of the most popular roads in California among motorbike and car enthusiast alike. From the bottom of highway 84 we came back up Pescadero Creek towards Alice’s Restaurant for lunch. Now I don’t know about everyone else, but I had a few laughs when I noticed half our group passing us in the opposite direction. Lesson #1 for EuSu staff, we need to bring even more maps – we just never seem to have enough! Lesson #2 for EuSu staff, do not trust Google Maps. Why?.... the road from highway 1 up towards Big Basin was in fact a fire road. Local California Department of Forestry Fire was very helpful in finding the right route for us though. Big Basin offered some truly miraculous scenery and some incredibly narrow single land roads. All in all for those that went on the post-lunch drive we covered a total of 155 miles on Sunday including the morning drive.

You may have noticed last month that we began choosing a “Car of the Month”. Well, April’s Bay Area car of the month is none other than the BMW M3 lightweight! Please feel free to check out our website where you will find all the information on the car. As EuroSunday continues to grow, our creativity and ideas for new events continue to grow as well. We want to thank all of you for coming out on Sunday, and we want to thank all of you for supporting EuroSunday. You are the most important part of making EuroSunday possible.

I'm pretty sure not to be able to make it to Mountain View for the gathering, but may be able to make the drive. Same route as last time, or PM me the route if not.

Thanks

EuroSunday Bay Recap:

May turned out to be one of the smallest turnouts in EuroSunday history. However, with the Premier Customer Engagement the day before and Bay to Breakers on Sunday we did not expect our usual attendance. The quality of the vehicles in attendance was exceptional though. We had roughly 50 cars at one point, and were blessed with the presence of John Alff and his remarkable 1954 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing. As the morning accrued time a Ferrari 512TR and 360 made their presence, as well as the Sharkwerks 3.8L GTSRS. Promptly at 10:15am the group headed out for the traditional post-meet drive. Winding their way south down Foothills Boulevard then up Highway 9, Northern California’s famed Skyline Boulevard was fast approaching. The swift and agile group continued up Skyline with great speed, and the views were remarkable with a huge wall of fog off towards the Pacific and a clear view of the Bay. As the group approached Alice’s Restaurant they veered off and onto La Honda down to the world famous Pacific Coast Highway. Just a little after noon the group arrived at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay where they enjoyed great food and one of the most scenic dining experiences on the coast. Next month the Bay Area meet will move back over to Danville at the Blackhawk Plaza. Until then, happy motoring.

EuroSunday Reno Recap:

EuroSunday Reno's first official gathering was a tremendous success. With little time to make a formalized announcement, there were still well over 20 cars in attendance! Special thanks to Dennis for bringing out his new, and amazing Ford GT sporting over 800bhp compliments of a few modifications! Also in attendance was a Lamborghini Gallardo, whose owner also has a Ferrari F430 and promises to bring that out to our show next month! In addition there were some exceptionally great Corvettes, Porsches, BMWs, and an Ultima GTR race car which was absolutely stunning! We will all be curious to see that car again once it’s new setup consisting of an LS7 motor is done. More interestingly, there was a Dodge Ram SRT-10 in attendance, and how they manage to stuff the Viper motor in there baffled us all. We look forward to next Month, which will also incorporate the Driven2Drive weekend.

The calendar says it's July 20. But there's no location. I'm hoping for Blackhawk again.
