Bay Area 911 Guys: Can someone please help me test my driveway?

All,

I have a weird request: is there a 911 owner living in SF who would be willing to drive over to my place (I live on 9th Ave near the Sunset) and check to see if their 997 would be able to get into my garage w/o scraping? I'm in the market for a 997 C2S but I have a bit of a steep driveway and I don't know if I'll be able to get my new baby in.

I considered trying to rent a 911 to give it a shot but can't find any rental agencies that have 997s for rent in the Bay Area. We recently had the driveway re-graded so that it would be more gradual. I have been able to get a sport-pkg bmw 530i in w/o scraping as well as a lowered E36 M3 (1" drop) by entering at an angle.

In exchange for this service I'll happily buy you a tank of gas or a nice bottle of scotch, case of good beer, your call!

Any help would be much appreciated!

You can always get the TechArt noselift kit from Alex at SharkWerks. This raises the front so you can enter driveways and ramps without scaping:

Having a steep driveway isn't a good reason to pass on a P-Car

I don't have a 997, but you might find someone else that can help. I MAY be passing through SF this weekend. IF I'm in the area, I could check it out for you with my 996TT, but it's lower than a stock 997 C2S.

Thanks For the idea! the noselift would hopefuly be a last resort. Tested a 993 c2 cab last night and it cleared with an inch or two to spare. It seems like those cars have shorter overhangs on front, though.

Just do what I do. Go in at a VERY steep angle AND back it in the driveway. PITA, but I'm scrape free (at least on the driveway)

The city is pretty tough. Why don't you just ask the salesman at your nearest dealership. They should be able to write a borrower's agreement or at least come with you, if you are seriously interested.
