Best driving roads Waltham/Boston Area

Hey guys, I'm at college in the Waltham/Boston area and I was wondering if there are any real good roads to hit up near by. Thanks in advance!

Now that's a sin. I would say, "how much I'm paying for tuition I better be able to drive my car!" lol

We really just need to get a meet day. Maybe beginning of next month and start gettting some routes down! Just drive all around until we find the best stuff.

Driving around Boston blows. Storrow drive on an early Saturday or Sunday morning rocks....but that's about it. I'm assuming you aren't talking about highway / high speed driving....

If you are looking for a twisty scenic route... head up to Rockport, MA 128/127. The speed limits are low, but the scenery is fantastic.

For rural...you need to go west. From Waltham take Rt 117 W --> rt 62 --> rt 85 and keep going until you are almost at 495, then go either southeast into Southborough or Northeast into Northborough. There are lots of fun hilly backroads, and very little traffic. Up 495 towards route 2, and off route 2 near the ski areas, there are some great little roads, too.

With any of these drives do it in the early AM, and watch out for bikers.

If your willing to head about a half hour north on 95, go to hampton beach..get on route 1 and follow it all the way up the coastline to rye/portsmouth...lots of sharp curves and beautiful scenery, ocean views and beautiful houses...definitely one of my favorite roads to go for a drive on..

I say MSHANLER, we make a route. I'll meet you at Bistro 20 or the chinese food restaurant and we'll draw something up and we can all have a drive, either before end of year or spring of next.

What do you think?

lol check out Yuppieracing.net

They have a bunch of drives in the area...

if you are looking for some quick fixes I really like driving along 126 from Rt2 and then switching over to 27... then getting off at Rt1 and hopping on 95... 95 to 128 and 128 back to my house in Lincoln... its a nice little loop
