Who Did your Clear Bra?
#46
hey boys and girls. i'm confused. My dealer is supposed to slap some "clear bra" on my new M6 and charged $750. I think its a 3M product? Is Ventureshield a better product than 3M? My dealer price seems pretty reasonable?

By far...Ventureshield is a better product by far. So good that 3M actually bought them out but they plan to keep things the same at least for now. I actually had 3M material on my 997TT when I first picked it up but because of the inherent yellow tint (due to the adhesive) in the 3M material, my blue paint looked like it was a different shade of blue under the 3M material. Not something I liked too much. I ended up having the 3M material removed and replaced by the Ventureshield material. I'd encourage you to go to either Mirroworks or Metropolitan Detail to have them put on VS instead.
BTW, my dealership charged me $1895 for the 3M material which was shocking since Accutint did it for them and they only charge $895 for the same thing. When I asked why the extra $1k, and they said that it was for the warranty coverage which pretty much guarantees that if a rock does somehow get through the 3M material then Barrier would pay to get that part repainted. Total BS if you ask me!
