I have reduced to 2 lenses for now. 17-55 2.8 ED and 70-200 2.8VR...I do have a 1.4 tele. My 8yr old son played his first football game today. I do not have the reach I need. Might be time for something in the 400 range. The 200-400 VR would do the trick.

I only have 3 lenses at this point (just got the cam & lenses a week ago)

Canon XSi, 50mm f/1.8, 18-55 f/3.5-5.6, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 UWA

Ordering a 55-250mm lens for a little more reach, and plan on getting some primes after I get good enough to need em!

Jason,

You have a very bad case of Nikon Acquisition Syndrome or NAS! You need to get this under control! You must follow these directions now...

1) Admit you have a problem
2) Choose what lenses, brackets, speedlights (you get the idea) you are going to let go for stupid prices (part of the healing process)
3) Email list to me first so I can proof read it for you.

Follow these steps and you will be well on the way to recovery. Of course NAS never goes away for ever, just like your TT you can only hope to contain it.

My highlights of the day -- Blewitt pass was off the chain (did I use that phrase properly? I think so) and on the east side of darrington, tearing it up with Omeed and Igor... somehow it ended up being just the two of us for a while...

Great to see all of you...

When is the next one? (not Hummm3's multiple day journey -- I wish)
Peej-
That piece of the road was unreal!! it was one of the few times where you are at peace and exhilarated at the same time!! and yes... your off-da-chain vernacular is spot-on!! nice job of keeping in touch with the youth!!

Someone told me this road to "Plain" was anything but. He were right. Dispatching early dawlders highly recommend before the twisties. Then the fun started. OMFG the road is amazing. I love it when my hands get crossed over the steering wheel, the IP displays "RACE", the top's down, the sun is shining and I'm feeding in as much throttle as I dare. You know you've hit a corner just right when you hear the skid-plate touch asphalt. Lots of elevation changes on that circuit too.

Another highlight of the trip was going up-hill at an alleged buck-thirty and having Ben pass me in the Carrera GT. The sound of that machine at WOT with straight pipes as it snarled and farted past me was sublime.
This trip was absolutely sublime, any road trip I will ever take now will be dull after Friday's drive. All the highlights listed above were just a surreal experience. I want to thank Paul for generously letting me fill the co-pilot position, mark for planning it out and the ice cream and everyone who came out with their cars and making me feel part of the gang. The world could have been coming to an end and I would still be on cloud nine.

Took some photos plus a video or two and posted it up in my gallery.

Agreed, the diversity in this state is second to none, I don't know another place where you can be in a rain forest then drive a couple hours over some amazing mountain passes and then be in a desert. Plus we have some great roads to drive while taking it all in!
