SEMA: the aftermath

SEMA: the aftermath
As I sit here at the Las Vegas airport, I can't help but think to myself what I'd just endured. I came here with a good friend of mine, Ken which I'm sure some of you folks will recall as the one who drove the supercharged black S2000 on the ice cream run. We both came here with the intent of taking pictures together of as many things as possible.
Bruce gave me, the newbie some tips on what to expect. There are three main sections, the South, Central and North halls with the South having two levels. We started there on the main floor. A little background, the SEMA is not open to the general public being a venue for future/new products either yet to be released or already released. We both came as invited guests of CEC Wheels from Los Angeles thanks to the generosity of TechArt. We both started in the South hall in the "wheels & tires" section working our way through about 6 miles of booths covering everything. There were cars, there were wheels, tires, and of course lots of scantily clad girls. We got pictures of them all. We then worked our way to the outdoor area where we were faced with something straight out of the Fast and the Furious. Vehicles en masse of all sorts of shapes and colors. We looked for Ben aka silversurfer's beastly Camaro without luck. From there we made our way upstairs but quickly retreated because nothing up there interested us. It was the off-road section. From there we made our way to the Central hall which was the Hot Rod/Performance/Restoration hall. We stayed for only a short time but not before we managed to stumble upon our favorite model, Lisa Chandler. We think that's her at least although she went under the supposed alias, Aliza. That was the end of day one for us. The next two days were basically the same as the first two except that we finished the Central hall and then the North Hall. The North Hall was where the mobile electronics and tools were.
Between the two of us we managed to take almost 6,000 pictures. I think that's plenty.
To be continued...

Oh and yes, we did manage to find Ben's beastly toy. What a thing of beauty it was. 2000 hp of pure unbridled terror. One can only imagine the twinges of fear that would go through a person's head when riding in this thing. Too bad it was parked out of sight for most and not easily found. It shone like a jewel in the waning afternoon sun.

My wife and I had a good time in Vegas, but SEMA was not a highlight for us. We spent a total of 4 hours at the show the whole time we were there. The girls this year were pretty sad. I didn't even manage to get 1 poster since they were that bad. The best comment we heard was from a guy walking away from getting a poster. He said "You look good in the poster, but look like sh&t in real life." My wiife and I laughed, but had to agree. Last years show was much better. A lot of vendors didn't even bother to show up this year.
You'll have to wait for Jason's pictures since I didn't pull my camera out at all.

DJ, I'm not sure where you guys went but I thought there were plenty of beautiful models. Between the two of us (Ken and me) we took about 677 pictures of them! I didn't bother with the posters because I didn't want to carry them. Hilarious my favorite was Aliza over in Central hall. We made a side trip on all three days just so we could chat with her/take pictures, etc. She was beautiful, a sweetheart and definitely approachable.
I'm heading to Alabama for the Porsche driving school so you guys will have to wait a bit longer unless they have a decent internet connection at the hotel.

Actually I was referring to the link that said he had to take them down to watermark them. I did not think that it would take that long.
