I would definitely get an '02 over an '01. PNW 6speed member joeacc has a nice '02 for sale for a very reasonable price.

I ended up trading mine in on a Cayenne Turbo. It was a perfect car, with a few miles; but still in great shape and needed nothing. The car was seal grey on black 6speed with 69k though. If you are still interested I can give you the guys phone number who I traded it into. You could probably pick it up for 24k.

IIRC the flat black is slightly over the $24k mark IF he would ever sell it

yeah I wouldnt expect to pay anywhere near THAT low for it. but would love to hear what he would've been asking for it- that is- if indeed that was the reasonably priced '02 Algaehater was talking about..
I love how he transformed the 996 into the beautiful machine that it is now though. I loved Bruce's car from the moment I saw it and have a deep respect for Joe's craftsmenship. After seeing the thread on the rebuild/retransformation, I think Joe can make anything I can imagine. I definitely see myself doing some type of business with him in the future.

I think you got confused, I had both a 2002 911 and a 2004 911 GT3 at the same period of time. I transformed the 2004 GT3 and the 2002 is still completely stock. The seal grey 2002 was the car for sale, my flat black GT3 is not for sale. Myself and my shop appreciate the compliments and always look forward to more 6speed work.

I also had a 2004 996C4S. It was a GREAT car and handles so well in all weather and as a daily driver. Good luck in your search, let us know what you get and post some pictures.
