verbal warning
southbound I5
couple miles north of Chehalis
tagged in my F150 (that is a Ford truck not an exotic ferrari )
WSP walks up to the window and says I got you at 75 in a 60
I frown and say "oh no..."
WSP says "can I see your license?"
I think it is a bit weird that he is not asking for registration and insurance but who am I to argue?
I say "my wallet is in the center console, so I am going to open it and reach in there and get it... don't shoot me"
WSP smirks
Hand him my license, he looks at it for 5 secs or so and hands it back to me and says "consider this a verbal warning and watch your speed"
I say "thank you... I really appreciate the break"
the whole thing took two minutes
I am thinking WTF... but shut my mouth, turn signal on, and out of there...
Never in my life have I been "caught" and let off with a warning...
I think it was the LEM plates on the truck...
So there you have it... they are not all jerks waiting to give you a lecture!

I blatantly ran a red light in front of a cop once who immediately pulled me afterwards (I was anticipating the green at 2:00am so no danger).
He looked up my history and came back and told me I seemed like a responsible kid and that he was just going to let me off with a warning.
granted this wasn't the WSP, it was an Edmonds cop, but all the more reason for him to try and bust as many people as he can.
+2 to them not all waiting to lecture

I've gotten verbal warnings before but that tends to happen when I'm polite and cooperative with the officer that pulls me over. I don't have the LEM plate on any of my cars but maybe that'll help.

I am not as lucky as PJ today. I was alone driving my Dad's Lexus LS460 from Bellevue Lexus to his house in Bellevue around 3:30pm and got pulled over on 112th Ave SE near Bellevue way. The cop was standing in front of a condo clocked me and point me into the condo's parking lot. He told me I was driving 46mph on a 35mph zone. Another officer was also writing a ticket for a green VW Jetta in front of me in the condo's parking lot. The officer said people who live in the condo complains cars were driving too fast on 112th Ave SE, that's the reason why they were here ! He ended up gave me a ticket for 40mph on a 35mph zone ! I have already contacted an attorney for this.
