Red light cameras

I’ve noticed recently at certain intersections new red light cameras. At one light Ive even noticed different light timings. During off peak times it would be no problem for 10-12 cars to make it through the light. Now only two cars can make it into the intersection and before the first can clear the other side of the 4 lane wide street the light turns yellow, and instantly red. I’ve been the third car a couple of times, along with a cop. I looked over at him thinking I was going to get busted and I could tell he was annoyed at the new light too!

Are there any ways to get out of one of these tickets, other then obviously not getting it in the first place? I know its not ticketed as a moving violation, but the fact that the state is to lazy to have a person write a ticket to your face, a camera and computer click one off of your car and mail you the bill. BS!

From what I heard, a police officer will review the image before they decide to issue a ticket and mail it out or not.

i saw one of those lit up signs that flash red if you go over "35 mph" or whatever the posted speed it. it takes pictures if you go over the limit. this is the first time i've seen one of those signs take an actual picture besides just flashing if you go over the posted speed limit. it was in bellevue around 148th ave.

I think you can get out of them if you are willing to sign an "affadavit" (is that what it is?) saying that you were not driving the car...

Sunglasses, hat, and no morals -- it is as easy as a signature...

I passed one on 148th a month or so ago and all it said was "HI". That might not have been a good thing. Nothing in the mail tho. Don't they just take a pic of the front of the car?

Are those legal in this state? I know the sprays didn't pass mythbuster's tests and a number of states have started making laws about covering the plate. Not sure what the law is here in WA. Also not sure what the *yellow* light law is here. In MA, where I was tested, the law for yellow was the same as the red light; "you must stop if it is safe to do so".

My Escort 9500Ci warns me of any impending red light cameras as I approach the intersections if so equipped. It's a very slick system that can easily be upgraded via latest internet file downloads.

God I sound like a salesperson.
