Car Nutz

Anyone have any opinions on Car Nutz in Bellevue? I'm getting my car lowered, and I'm debating on whether to use Benchmark or Car Nutz. I've used Benchmark before, and have generally been happy with them (though they are uber expensive and put in a heavy sales pitch), but I'm thinking about trying Car Nutz for this simple mod to just see how they do with respect to installation and customer service. Thoughts? Thanks in advance...

Based upon personal experience, I'd go somewhere that is very experienced with suspension/springs. And, somewhere that does it there at the shop and doesn't sub it out.

^^^ What they said. For suspensions I have heard nothing but great things about Speedware. Of course they all come from PJ =)

I'd take it to Cantrell Motorsport. He's the best IMHO in the suspension business around the Eastside.

Fordahl Motorsports knows how to dial suspension in better than anyone I've seen. There's a reason why Greg Fordahl is a chassis engineer for Porsche Motorsports North America in the ALMS.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm actually using the Renntech module for the lowering, so won't need to mess with springs and suspension manually thankfully (the E63 has a lowering button - the module just tells the car to lower the car more).

I'll post pics when it is done.

Except Greg does not care about his customers. Have had too many friends be blown off by him. He didn't even want to give me the time of day when I called. He lost my business forever, don't care how good they are.

Cantrell or Speedware are excellent choices. Can't go wrong with either.

Can't you do it yourself if it's just a software upgrade? Aside from that, my vote is Speedware.

It's not a software upgrade. It's a module unit that has to be installed. Usually those have to be spliced in but sometimes it's as easy as plug n' play. I forgot you could do that with MB cars/suvs. I'd take it to Benchmark for that. They give much better service than the guys at Car Nutz.

Bellevue_E55 is infamous around these parts
I did mine about a month ago and it took me about 45 minutes if that. I used the Carlsson that is also plug and play.

Did you get the remote. Running the cable will probably be the hardest thing.

I'm willing to help. Mine was an E55 but I am sure an E63 is similar.

Otherwise I vote for Benchmark.

CarNutz lowerd my 2008 S550 by adjusting the senors, It has been over a year since I lowered and my suspension has no probems and the first service was already done by Phil Smart and not a problem at all with warranty issues in my case. I was going to use the module but I was told there is a risk about warranty issues with MB. At least from what I heard, they can't really tell that you adjusted the senors, unless they notice the car is lowered and they really want to find out why and how, but there isn't any actual parts add on or replace in the car and the rise button in the car still works perfect ! That's why I picked adjusting the senors instead of the module.

I have also heard some negative things about CarNutz, I am not really into modifications and I haven't really buy a lot of stuffs from them except the 21" Lorinser RS8 wheels on my S550, but both Joel and Jim at CarNutz treated me nice over the years. IMO, they are really good at Mercedes-Benz.
