mercedes ABC suspension help

is anyone on here firmiliar with the AIRMATIC BODY CONTROL suspension option on mercedes? i was wonder if you guys know of any company or place out there that supplies a lowering kit or would be able to disable that option on the car. my SL500 suspension gave out on me cause of a leak and before fixing the leak i was wondering if i could just put my money towards some kind of suspension work and just remove the ABC option or is that an option i would just have to keep on the car?

Give BBi a call. I believe they make a spacer that actually moves the air suspension down. www.bbiautosport.com

Interesting. I have never heard of anyone completely replacing the ABC suspension with something else, i.e. coilovers. I believe the new SL65 Black Series does not have any sort of air suspension but I would assume trying to get your hands on that particular suspension and the cost would outweigh the effort.

I would recommend getting the ABC repaired and adding a Renntech ELM. Links are cool but unlike the ELM, they do not accommodate the automatic lowering that takes place at 60+ mph so the car would drop even lower than the point set at stand still.

i guess ill just have to get the leak repaired and then worry about lowering it later i guess.. where would you guys recomend for that kind of work that wont cost an arm and a leg?! i love the way the car sits and looks without any fluid in it LOL but i know it'll damage the car since the hydralic suspension is running off the same fluid as my power steering pump.. so my power steering is leaking aswell..

im sure they removed the ABC hydralic suspension on the SL65 cause its one of the worse idea mercedes ever came up with..

never seen a any mercedes so dumped before.. heres how she sits while i research on how to repair her.. A+ on looks but F- on performace at the height shes at..

I would try giving Adam at Mercedes Garage in Bellevue a call.
