Time to seal for winter

Winter is just around the corner, and it's a great time to protect your vehicle's finish. Wether you're putting a car cover on your jewel for the winter, or you've got the beauty of all wheel drive, and plan on putting your snowtires to the test this year we've got a organic wax, or synthetic paint sealant to fit your needs.

What's the difference between a wax, and paint sealant? They both seal the vehicle's paint, and help keep your car looking good, but they're very different in durability, application, and overall look. Most paint sealants are in a liquid form, and offer exceptional durability. The overall look of a paint sealant compared to a quality carnauba wax does look a little cold. If you have a silver or white colored car, a paint sealant is an excellent choice, as you won't see quite as much of a difference as you would in a darker colored vehicle. You can also stack a coat of carnauba wax on top of a paint sealant for enhanced durability, and a "carnauba" look.
If you have a dark colored, or collector's car, the best overall look will come from a quality carnauba wax, as they offer a more "warm" look. Carnauba wax usually comes as a paste wax, and offers decent durability. High quality waxes with higher levels of carnauba will usually last a little longer. Durability can be increased by adding additional coats of carnauba wax, but with most waxes, you do want to wait 24 hours between coats. Our Metropolitan Concours wax service includes two coats of wax, which should provide similar durability to a synthetic paint sealant.
