the arch of my garage took 8 years restoring his. He just said block aside some time. Even if you buy a 85k example now you have to learn the crazy carb's etc.

Like any of the older cars, some parts are easy to get, some harder. The later Healeys used a truck engine that was, by English standards, fairly reliable. It helps if you can do the minor tune-ups to keep the carbs in sync. In general, parts seem to wear out, fail or need adjustment with a much higher rate of frequency than you might expect.
I owned a '65 3000 MkIII. I Very much enjoyed having real windows in the doors compared to the windscreens of older cars. (I previously had a '59 MGA with windscreens.) The electric overdrive was nice. Nice sounds. Reasonable performance. The usual Prince of Darkness -- Lucas electrical system.
- Expect it to be hotter to drive in warm weather than you might think, even with the top down, as a lot of heat radiates from the transmission and firewall.
- Push the Healey hard and the combination of heavy front engine and light tail means it can swap ends suddenly.
- Safety is classic '50's-'60's technology. (er....minimal)
Overall pleasant to own, comfortable, but are enjoyed more by people who keep a tool kit in the trunk and know how to use it.

It would have to be a Lotus.
Some sort of limited edition at that, perhaps commemorating or celebrating Team Lotus F1 cars and their drivers. But it would have to have the same number as the car the driver used.
For instance, if I had a 35th anniversary car commemorating Emerson Fittipaldi's dominance in his Lotus 72D, it would have to be #6 just like his championship winning car.
If I had a second favorite car of all time, it might be a McLaren F1.
