Lexus LFA! :0

I was very sorry to hear the news at Lexus yesterday. We may have different brand or model preferences, but we're all car guys and I cheer on all manufacturers willing to push the exotic envelope and Lexus was doing something a little daring. Hiromu Naruse was responsible for so many milestones at Toyota, and some of the best selling cars- ever. His mark on the auto industry is huge and he will be missed for sure.

Did you see the Top Gear where Hammond did the test?

He said it best...something to the extent of:
Do you really want to be the guy at the country club when they ask you, excuse me would the owner of the 340 thousand pound lexus move!
Either way it, it looks like an interesting car.

Funny how the LFA was supposedly "sold out" with the Lease option, and now Lexus announces that you can buy it outright with stipulations. Why would they offer is for sale if it is sold out?

I have no idea. I think it's safe to say Lexus didn't tell the truth in their original plan. We should see the cars in private hands soon, and I think the exact number will be known. Meanwhile, there has been almost no chatter from actual buyers anywhere so it's hard to believe it's been anywhere near the success they claimed.

The problem with this car is that at the end of the day, you're still driving a Lexus. For the same money you could have a Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari etc that are all as good, and look better with a name that rolls off your tongue better.

The only reason that they priced it so crazily is to try to recoup most of their $ from r&d, w/o any regard for the competition. What a joke, esp since the GTR is so much cheaper, not even taking acct of the other exotics.

GTRs would be great, if they weren't so terribly ugly, heavy, and computerized.
I never expected it, but the lexus is actually growing on me. The rest of the current crop of supercars is pretty sad, IMO.

Are you interested? I hear there are only 60 cars available in the US market....
