mine was 85mph on I5, he wrote it for 75mph. Nothing for me to complain about...

The jammers are just a sound investment, even if you rarely exceed the posted limit. The 5MPH changes happen all over the place and it would be easy to get tripped up by one of them.
Are they really doing 5mph over now? Damn I got one on I-90 for 74, but I made a really agressive (stupid) lane change came off 405 at factoria and shot across the fast lane.. no cars around, but I can see why the cop didn't like it.

I hate I90, its COVERED with cops.

Did the detector voice tell you that there was front or rear laser shifting? In some cars (997 turbo's, several Ferrari's for example) there is an EMI source present in the engine bay that triggers the rear laser shifter on acceleration. Benchmark is supposed to be getting a new shielded cable from Escort to fix this problem.

BTW these devices do not "jam" laser beams, rather they shift them. The result is the same. A caveat: None of these devices are worth a S**T against instant on radar guns. Regardless of what Benchmark says, I have found the vast majority of laser "hits" have come from spurious signals (car headlights, cell towers, etc.). It has been my experience radar is still the most used speed trap device. One notable exception is on I-405 from Kirkland to Totem Lake where the motorcycle cops hug the Jersey barrier with their laser's.

Very slick!! You mind me asking what that ended up costing? PM if necessary.

Around $4k for everything. I think the 9500ci alone was around $3k. I know the only defense to instant on is catching someone else being hit before you do. I saw the cop pointing his gun at me when the laser alert came on... I was kind of nervous that benchmark could have done the install incorrectly and it wouldn't shift...ie didn't aim them properly...

On my buddy's porsche (benchmark did his 9500ci), whenever he hits the horn, it sets off the detector..LOL He had a ton of problems. My only problem is that the bluetooth speaker is too quiet, going in next week to have them include more speakers...

The ipod interface is not the most elegant solution, but the OEM part was $1600 plus labor... I can deal with it taking 3-4 seconds to fire up when I switch from radio to ipod...

each state has their own laws.

http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/11201.html

u can get a 9500ci on ebay for little over $1000.

and have it professionally installed for less than $300.

however, 9500ci's laser jamming is debatable..

the Laser Interceptors are, without question, the best protection against lasers.. but don't buy on ebay - no warranty.

too bad i am in cali..
