Finally snagged one! (found a nice little 914)

Been looking for a very long time for a nice old 911 or 914. Lots of 911s popped up around here, but I wasn't impressed with the condition. Figured I wouldn't mind a project if it needed only aesthetics, but they were all rust buckets. Even the ones that cosmetically were great needed a resealed engine, leaked like a madman or had something the owner would "Ehhh well...." on.

Finally, after posting up on a few forums, someone sent me an email. Turns out they were a local, very nice person and very knowledgeable about the 914 cars. I was skeptical since the 914 usually has that "Great, a rustbucket!" stigmata attached to it. But I went and looked at it and was stunned.

Original paint, interior, wheels, it's a survivor! Bare bones, no options and not part of an appearance group. I drove it and bought it. I couldn't believe the condition. He put it up on a lift for me to see underneath. Also no rust. Just in fabulous condition!

The only aftermarket stuff done to it was Bursch exhaust and adjustable Bilsteins on it. Aside from that, all stock.

Pics!

Added in the stickers from when the car went overseas when the first owner was in the service. They were hard to see at night.

That looks like a early one, is it a 1.8l?
Nice find.

I spotted a Bosh Blue coil, that's a "upgrade"

Sounds like a pretty cool setup. That area and outside of prineville near Mckay creek are great areas. Gotta love central oregon! Wish I knew more Porsche fanatics around these parts. Maybe sometime if we can get some together we could get a 6speed meet going or something.
