south of magnolia bridge on Elliot ave - just noticed a sign, not sure if it is new but I think it is....

saw this heading south on Elliot ave... just a heads up as the speed limit is artificially low at 35 on that street...

anyone know if these are fixed cameras or is it the camera van?

 

I have seen a mobile one operated in between Mercer and W Harrison on the west side of the road. Also on the weekends the Seattle port authority starts pulling people over there too. As if the relentless tickets for parking in that area weren’t enough. I guess they have to pay for that repaving job they did on it awhile back. Or pay for some more braces on the decrepit viaduct.

 

You got nothing to worry about if you're rolling that new Prius. I believe those cars are exempt from speeding tickets.

 

No, they are just exempt from fun. But they do get special valet privileges at whole foods and other sources of granola.

 

It's a camera van and isn't there all the time but it was in the press a few weeks ago that it will be a recurring spot that SPD has set up to generate revenue and keep us all safer *insert sarcasm smiley here*.

Great! Now along with two or three of the pointless traffic lights they put speeding vans up.

 

they should just make elliot ave a big bike and bus only lane :-)

 

We might be up in Seattle in the next week or two and wondered if any could positively ID the van. Is it any of these?
