Track day at PGP - 16 June
We are pleased to announce that registration for our club's special Track Day at PacificGP, located adjacent to Pacific Raceways, is now open to the public at the incredible rate of only $125 per driver or $25 to come as a passenger.
Here are the vital bits of information so you can plan accordingly:
Where: Pacific GP at Pacific Raceways in Kent.
When: Thursday, 16 June 2011. Driver check-in will open at 8am, driver’s meeting at 8:30am
Who can attend: All driver’s of safely operating vehicles. Passengers are welcome but will need to pay the $25 insurance fee
What you need:
1) Helmet – can be rented on site
2) Operating vehicle that does not leak oil
We think you’ll find this event very fun, very safe, and at an incredible price. In fact, on a per minute basis this is cheaper than go-karting!! If you have always wanted to put your car on the track but have been concerned about the risks of the big track, your experience level and the general safety of the event, then we think you’ll find this event a great fit for you. The track is smaller, the speeds involved are lower (though still enormous fun!) and the safety aspect is greatly improved as a result. On top of that, given the nature of the event and how we have structured this, you will have access to more track time than you would normally. In fact, with 6 or less cars in your run group, you’ll also find yourself often feeling like you have the track all to yourself! Just you, your car, and a very twisty road to enjoy for the full day! Each driver will have an opportunity to enjoy the track at least six fifteen minute driving sessions during the day. So please come on out and enjoy a day of good people, good cars, and great fun!!
Here is a snippet from the website:
“With the majestic 14,000 foot Mount Rainier as the backdrop, Pacific Grand Prix is a 0.82 mile asphalt track with a main straight approaching 800 feet in length and 30 feet in width. With up to 15 turns, the layout is designed so that horsepower can be an advantage at the South end; longer straights and hard braking corners allowing for maximum passing zones. But the North end is very technical rewarding the pilots with the best driving skills.”
Here is a YouTube Video of an all-lotus session on this very track! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll2kNqCat1g
Please send an email to Trevor Cobb at cobb.trevor@gmail.com to reserve your spot today. In your message please include:
1) Full Name of Driver
2) Full Name of passenger(s) if you will have any
3) Make/Model/year of car you intend to drive
4) Whether you need a helmet and the size (Small, medium, large)
5) Your driving experience on a race track (we will use this to group drivers by skill level)
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you!!
Trevor

Trevor - I would love to attend but I'll be attending a conference.
I'm bummed since I just picked up some new sticky street tires to go with some new wheels for the S2000 and I want to give 'em a try.
For anyone who hasn't done the PGP thing yet it's insanely fun and a lot of seat time for the money.
Have fun, all!

whats the deadline to sign up? or can we sign up the day of?
I already signed up for the June 8th lapping day there, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to take the time off work again so soon...

Won't be able to make it out to this one, but I can testify to anyone who's on the fence about it that the PGP track is an amazing time!
Shame I won't be able to be out, but this should be a fantastic time for all involved. I can't wait to see the pics.

Trevor, I take it that price is for the whole day? Are they doing any 1/2 days? I can't be there all day, & need to get my GP fix!
Wonder if the wife will mind me throttling the MINI around the track?

I just went to another lapping day yesterday...a lot of fun. I will be out of the country for July, but was planning on doing another lapping day on August 10th with my kids. We can plan that day for our E@RTC group if anyone interested??
