Test driving the 991
Today was a beautiful day for a drive! Went to test drive the new 991 today. They've really improved the car but it almost felt a bit too sterile despite the fact that it sounded great. It's more of an "everyday" supercar for the "every person" now.
Definitely much more modern compared to the 997
Getting in and out is definitely much easier. Doesn't feel as "intimate" as before.
Sunroof opening is as huge as the 997 Targa. I have mixed feelings about it because I'm not even sure I like having a sunroof
I love how the new 991 looks up front.
Those new taillights are hot
What amused me is that there was no way for them to put the "demo" dealer plates on the 991 because of the retractable spoiler. The salesguy ended up holding it the whole time.
Josh demonstrating how much headroom there in the back
I honestly love the new "key"...very slick making it look like the 991 profile
Rear quarter looks good too
I think it's too "busy" back there..they should have left the "PORSCHE" on the backlight glass like on 997s.
How does the 991 look compared to my 997TT? I think it looks good. An "evolutionary" upgrade
I'm not entirely sold on the rear bumper yet but maybe it'll grow on me
A beautiful 997.2 Turbo S painted to sample in I think Fountain Blue with the 908 in the background
908, sexy as ever!
This very same 908 was at the recent Rennsport Reunion
Model of the 908
Which has a sexier rear end? Kinda like comparing Marilyn Monroe to say, Adriana Lima?

The car looks like a 910, the model is a 906.

I've said it before on another thread but this must be very similar to how people felt when the 996 replaced the outgoing 993. I just cannot find myself warming up to many things about the 991, but am trying to keep an open mind to the fact that I've yet to see one in person (was at Barrier the day of the reveal, but the covers were still on). I'm also mindful of the fact that I'm rarely impressed with the base model, and so am really hopeful that the upcoming GT3, Turbo, and GT2 variants really get the pulse quickening!
Terrific pictures, thank you very much!
