I had a Turbo II model once... it was a good car... didn't know much about it at the time... sorta wish i would have kept it. You guys are probally going to get mad lol but I traded it for an Impala SS for my nephew. 2 weeks Later he crashed the Impala SS at 120mph dummy.

what hood is that? i like the assymetrical aspect of it, are the vents functional?

It was something that I saw on another site. I pretty much had it cut when I had the FD repainted.

As far as functionality, I guess it works as the vent sits right on top of the turbos. You can see the heat vent off while sitting on a stoplight. I also notice that when i have the covers on (for rain), it takes a while for the temps to return back to normal (180 F)- anywhere from 190-200 F.

I guess the Scoot hood is the most functional but this works for me..

I think I met you in the Charleston meets back in 2002 or 2003 when I was station in Beaufort. You almost had me getting a LS in my FD. My screen name in the RX-7 forum is hondasr4kids.

its possible, i dont remember a show in charleston, but i cant remember very well... yeah i am actually trying to sell it now, if you know anyone interested...

I've had my eyes on a few local FDs. It is too bad that most of them have that ugly tan leather interior. It is incredibly hard to find one with black leather or even cloth.

I don't see too many N/A LS1s (which came with 330 Hp at their peak) picking up 40% Hp increase off a H&C, Intake, & an Exhaust). 3) RX-7s are not purchased for gas mileage. I better tell my neighbor to unload his Viper - it has worse gas mileage than an "LS1".....IMO, its a somewhat silly stance for a full blown sports car - no matter what make/powerplant.

Scared of the truth? Comical......I'm stating fact & BTW, I could care less if someone drops a V8 into an RX-7. It's metal & plastic - not some iconic golden charriot. In fact, I'm thinking of dropping an LS7 in my R1 when the turbos finally go since I can't go single in CA due to strict emission requirements.

Ha you dont see many LS1's making 400RWHP on the mods you listed??? That just futher shows you dont know what you are talking about. I made back when I was cam only 405RWHP, with 375RWTQ. Now I put down 486RWHP with 443RWTQ on a heads cam stock bottom end motor. Also the car I just finished with a little 347 LS1 makes 500RWHP NA. How is all that for some NA numbers. I can pull up vids just like you showing someone elses high HP numbers but that proves nothing in this. We both know that 13B is not going to last long making that how can you expect a motor that small to last under that stress. ( dont even try to say its all in the tune)

Hey as for the gas milage its just one good side effect how can you not bring it into play.

As for the weight you are in the dark once again man. Just read this and watch the vid buddy.

Its more of a hobby then a buss, so its ok. I just dont like the lies that people spred casue they one dont know two dont care to know or 3 just rotory nut swingers.

Absolutely not, I have never seen a 13b put down 400whp at 1 bar. The ONLY way this could even be remotely possible is if it was running race gas and a super aggressive port, even then I dont think its possible. Would be a STRETCH for even the bnr stage 3 twins to put down 400whp at 1bar. 1 bar on the stock twins on a street-port with all the bolt-ons with 93 octane puts you at 350whp on a fairly aggressive tune.

Respectfully, you are misinformed. My car put down 405 rwhp on a dynojet and 356 rwhp on a Mustang dyno. Rich Farrell's car put down 425 rwhp on the BNR stage IIIs. There are experienced/well tuned rotaries on stock twins at 400 rwhp - I know of several besides myself (and yes, the motors all have aggressive street ports).

Fyi, running race gas allows you to run more boost (or to add a safety margin against possible detonation at the same boost level). It provides no additional power output unless more air is added the equation, in fact, depending on octane/ARR, it will decrease output as you run too rich.

Actually, I know quite a bit about LS1 conversions but thanks.

1) Your 2800 lbs LS1'd FD is 70 lbs heavier than my rotary stock twinned FD (same petrol level). The LS1 solution is heavier - I've seen it measured on over 10 different cars. The gap actually widens if the rotary goes single as the air pump is removed.

2) Longetivity? Not an issue. I sold my Turbo FC (not stock either) with 126k miles - was running fine. My FD motor has 91k miles. Rotaries have less than half the moving parts of a piston counterpart - there is less to break - no matter what Hp level you run you don't have to worry about valves, cams, piston rings, etc..... There are 2 spinning triangles, each with 3 Apex Seals which don't break unless detonation occurs from starving the engine of fuel (this is why you can run huge boost levels in a rotary)

Pal, I'm not trying to be an azz. I just don't see why someone would make all the effort when you can mod the rotary to match or exceed an LS1 swap..depending...ultimately, on turbo selection (the GT35R is optimal for DD street use)? Happy Easter .
