You didn't used to be like this, Nissan. Up until the GT-R arrived this year, and with the exception of the 370Z's predecessor, you've spent the last decade building modest SUVs, trucks, and sedans for the masses. Sure, there have been a few hot compacts in there, but your latest Sentra SE-Rs haven't exactly set the enthusiast world ablaze. Now it's all Porsche this, Nürburgring that. It's like we don't even know you anymore. Then, just when it seems like GT-R-a-palooza is dying down, here comes the new Z. First, in spy photos, being trailed by a Porsche Cayman. Then, with Nissan's own staff calling Porsche's baby coupe out as a benchmark. All right, we'll bite.

The 370z just looks chubby. I'd take the Cayman in a heartbeat.

370 for me. I like the Cayman, but it's WAY overpriced for what you get, just like the 911.

but I voted for neither because I would get a STi or Evo X.

If this were a comparo between the 370z and 09 Cayman S it would be Cayman S hands down money no object. But against the old Cayman S Ill chose the 370z. I cant wait for the Nismo version to see how it stacks up to the 09 Cayman S. MT said they got 0-60 in 4.5 from the PDK Cayman S without even trying to do that. Cant wait till they actually try For reference the 370z did 0-60 in 4.9.....More interested in the 1/4 numbers though. 09 Cayman S tops out at 171mph. Dont think the Z will be getting there.

Cayman, easy. I was really hoping all the speculation about the 370z being significantly lighter was going to be true...guess I'm an optimist.

I agree and isn't this a "japanese supercar" forum.........the Cayman is basically a boxster on steroids and the Z is anything but super! I've smashed on twin turbo Z's all day in my overpriced Toyota Prius and in stock form the Z is a ****roach

Yah, the 370Z is a pig, but it is a good looking car. At this price point you shoulda included the Sti and the Evo.
