Don't think that's gonna happen. They are selling for 29k euros. I predict the base price at least 30-32k. Hyundai Genesis looks just as good and has better interior, engine and equipment.
Are you going to a dealer soon?

There are much better alternatives for 30k price range. I am glad that you are wrong.

same here.

even though FR-S and BR-Z are same thing (i don't think there are any differences except very minor cosmetic differences), i like scion better.

does anyone know when FR-S is coming to US?

Really, looking forward to this.

I am still puzzled though. Why did Subaru/Toyota release an identical model under different brand? Simple collaboration between two companies?

Aftermarkets for these cars will be tremendous. There's already a V8 project in Japan (I think Tundra motor).

The FR-S is RWD while the BRZ is AWD. Essentially Toyota developed the chassis and Subaru developed the engine

hehe V8 swap is what I was talking about (2URGSE is the 5.0L IS-F motor).
That motor/tranny combo minus 1000lbs from the IS-F would be sooo much fun!

Thanks for the clarification. I thought this was Subaru's "first" RWD car. I guess I was wrong.

Pretty sure I am getting BRZ then.

[edit] how come under "Spec," it says it's rear wheel drive...?

Wrong, both versions are rwd.

BR-Z pricing:

Premium 6MT - 25,495 6AT - 26,595
Limited 6MT - 27,495 6AT - 28,595

Add 750 for D&D.

I thought so too. It was no brainer for me if subaru offered AWD. (need AWD for my daily)

Well, is it down to the service department? well priced cars.
