the matte black , the car the way it sits in the pic , is perfect dont change a thing!!!!
it looks like satans evil twin !! just nasty!
im glad that you are taking the time to throw in a 20b rather then doing that ls1 in it. yea they say its lighter , easier and more reliable, but by doing that its like taking the heart and soul from it....
much rather have a high revving turbo motor, great job.

i agree!! your car looks menacing... now im not all that familiar with these wankels.
what all benefits does the 3 rotor provide of the regular 13b? and how much more power can be extracted?
and are they more reliable ? had a few friends that are into rx7's and they were tuned but every other month they were in the garage with motor issues, i think blows apex seals. and they had the beefy ones in there also.
i saw a natural aspirated 20b that revved safely to 12k ,lol... that is insane.

Agree. It's gotta be a labor of love. It's a lot of trouble that can be saved just by getting the Z06. Many of the ex-FD guys I used to run with now drive Z06s and they are friggin fast.

Issues I know I'll face is keeping this engine cool. I'm going to use multipass radiator in V mount configurations and dual oil coolers.
Regarding FD's... well, I'll say that back when I started, blowing up these engines were common because very few knew how to tune turbo charged cars. But now, more and more people are tuning their own cars with success and less and less are detonating their engines. I personally haven't lost an engine due to Apex seal failure and only engine I lost was due to running FMIC and over heating and lost a coolant seal.

From my experience with the FDs, upgrade the radiator and intercooler and manage your tune. Spend the money and do it right and these motors are just as reliable as anything else. Upgrading the seals are a good idea when needed, I also enjoyed ripping out the rats nest and going to a standalone ecu. Saved a lot of headaches with vacuum leaks from random heat to cold transitions over the decades of use.

Benefits.. well, 3 rotor increases displacement and hence it also increases torque on torqueless Rotary motors. My 20B Cosmo, this was noticed immediately when I drove it (stock 300HP @ the flywheel and rated 300lbs torque). Some also say 3 rotary is like V12 vs. V8 2 rotor and with turbo, power potential is quite good.

December 13, 2011 - I didn't get much accomplished over the weekend... Kid, wife, holiday season, plus my old house that i'm trying to get rid of is sucking all my spare time I have.
Yesterday, I finally ordered my new wheels for this car from WORK Wheels.
I'll most likely use these on the street and my RAYS/VOLK RE30s on the track.
WORK CR Ultimate is their newest Emotion Series that are much lighter and stronger than previous CR series. I'm super excited to get them and now they are available in 10.5 width.
December 16th, 2011 - I've received some sneak peek pictures of the turbo manifold yesterday. Walker Morgan from www.MPFab.com did an excellent job.
Here are few pics from the pics he sent me!
Its made with Stainless 321, which Walker did his magic on them to look like this... Not sure if many of you seen how 321 comes form suppliers, but they looked horrible.
I'm heading over to the shop on monday to take some high res pictures with my dslr and also bring him the mid pipe and catback for him to test fit to make the DP.
Those of you who haven't heard of MPFab.com, he has worked on several exhaust systems for high end SEMA cars and custom hot rods. He also developed turbo kids for bikes and other sport compact cars.
For more information about them, go visit: www.MPFab.com

December 19th, 2011 - I went by MPFab.com this morning to drop off my titanium catback and a midpipe so, he can start working on the turbo placement and DP. I also had a chance to take a look at Walker's handy work. Man was I impress with his fabrication skills
Here are some better pics I've taken.
I have yet to see bottom mount turbo set up on a rotary and I'm excited to see how all is going to turn out!

This one should rev to 10K with ease.. 3 rotors are harder to balance but it was balanced by a very experienced builder. And I'm planning to use an exedy clutch for this engine.
